He took a close look at his hand, twisting his wrist around a few times. No pain whatsoever. As he was trying to comprehend this phenomenon, a certain illumination began emanating from his body. Tilting his head downwards to look at himself, he slowly moved the upper part of his clothing, revealing the source of the light.
The symbol of a cross was embedded oh his chest, pulsating with an ivory gleam like a heartbeat.
Athan was fascinated by the show being conducted on his very skin. He felt nothing but warmth, as if someone was trying to reassure him that... all wounds can heal.
Soon enough, the cross stopped producing its luminescence. After repositioning his cloth to its original state, covering the symbol on his chest, he held his head high, now fueled with even more passion to continue his journey and discover the nature of this world and its inhabitants.

For the first time in his life, he made a choise for himself, unbound by any type of rules: he wanted to find out… what he really was. With so many questions flooding him and so little answers to pick, the young fellow knew that the only way to the truth, was forward.
No more looking back, no more mourning.
It was finally time to wander ahead and so, Athan followed the footsteps of the moving star and advanced towards it. It took him only a few moments however, before he (once again) found himself at the edge of the cliff, trying to figure out a way to go down safely. He had already learned his lesson and knew that falling would equal pain, which is something he really wanted to avoid.
All of a sudden, the ground beneath his feet became unsteady and in a matter of seconds, Athan lost his foothold. No matter how desperately he tried to reach out to grab the soil, nothing could stop his descend. In those few moments that he was levitating in the air, he could do nothing but scream out in confusion and agony.
He was well aware of the consequences of such a big fall. Nontheless, it was impossible to save himself.
As he glanced back at the top one final time, he saw something… unnerving ...
