LEAVE : The Shadow's Behind

LEAVE Part 12

LEAVE Part 12

Sep 24, 2025

Running late was not Elliot's intention but it was what was happening. His last session ran over so he wasn't able to leave work on time and then it started raining. Elliot wasn't a fan of riding his bike in the rain but it was currently his only set of wheels since his car was in the shop and getting an Uber to the local wolf den didn't feel right.

When he pulled up to the address given to him there were already several bikes in the dirt, well now muddy lot. No one was outside. His heart jumped to his throat as he walked up the front steps. He didn't have a clue as to what he was about to walk into. He knew Skoll and he met Tonka once and they were normal so the rest of them had to be normal too, right?

Elliot let some of his research on wolves go to his head as he hesitated at the front door. He knew most of what he read online was more than embellished but he also knew some of it had to be true. He had only brought himself to ask a few questions about wolves to Skoll. They had agreed if this was going to work that they had to be open and honest with each other. Elliot was finding that a bit hard on his part. He hadn't shared himself with anyone one a long time. Diving into those deep places inside himself was rough but it was also needed. He couldn't keep living this half life.

Skoll was the first one to look up when he walked in. Then again Skoll was the one he was looking for in the crowd of people now looking at him. He shook off the rain from his carhartt jacket. His hair drenched from the short walk from his bike to the porch out front.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Skoll, walking up to him.

"Tonka told me to come."

"Elliot!" Hollered Tonka from the back of the room.

The rest of them watched as he made his way over to them at the door.

"Sorry I'm late."

"It's all good." Tonka smiled, lacing his arm over his shoulders. "Everyone. This is Elliot."

Skoll stood next to them all tense as everyone looked at what was his. He didn't like it. Elliot nudged him with his elbow, giving him a look.

"I'm only going to say this once." Skoll took a step forward, rolling his shoulders as he stood up straighter. "MINE." He growled out deep from the back of his throat.

A few of the guys huffed and turned back to what they were doing before. Other's gazed at them with a confused look, Elliot included. He wasn't expecting that reaction from Skoll.

"I think they understand." Tonka said, patting Skoll on the chest as he pulled Elliot along with him.

Everyone turned back to what they were doing as Tonka guided Elliot over to the bar. "Beer?"

"No, thank you." Elliot didn't think drinking would suit him well tonight. He was already nervous and honestly a bit scared not that he was showing it.

Skoll trailed right behind him. His eyes darted around the room at his brothers. He had never brought anyone to the clubhouse before. This was a big deal in their world. Not to count the fact that Tonka sprang this on him. Elliot and him were still working out the details of what their relationship was.

"I'd like to speak with you, alone, before you leave." Tonka said, patting Elliot on the back before he walked off.

"Should I be afraid?" Elliot asked, turning towards Skoll.

"Maybe." He chewed out, not making Elliot feel any better.

Tonka took his seat at the head of the group, clapping a few times to get their attention. Skoll mumbled something under his breath that Elliot couldn't make out as he walked away. Elliot sat on the bar stool off to the side.

Skoll sat next to Tonka as the current second of the pack. His arms crossed over his chest, scanning the room again before they fell on Elliot and stayed there for the entire meeting.

Tonka cleared the air about the raid that happened a few weeks prior. Like Elliot said it wasn't him that leaked anything to the cops. It in fact was an ex-girlfriend that didn't take the breakup kindly and was pissed off and called in the tip. An ex-girlfriend that had since been taken care of. Elliot wasn't sure if he wanted to know what that meant. Skoll had promised him that they weren't into anything malicious.

The raid was the highlight of their meeting. The rest went on as usual. They hit all the points they usually did. Went over any concerns the men or women of the group had. Elliot shouldn't have been shocked at how civil all of it was. They were just a group of people with a slightly different set of rules. Rules they set for themselves to keep them safe.

Elliot didn't move from his stoll until after the meeting and Tonka waved him over. He followed Tonka back to his office, his throat grew tight when Tonka shut the door behind him. Elliot had a good feeling that Skoll was just outside listening, protecting him if the need came.

"I just want to make sure things are clear." Tonks started as he took his seat behind his desk. "That by inviting you here tonight that you are now seen as one of us. That by accepting Skoll you have accepted us."

Elliot nodded. Skoll may have told him something along the lines of this. He just didn't think it would come this soon.

"We don't take kindly to ones that cross us." Tonka paused, letting that sit in, making Elliot think of the women again and what may have happened to her. "It's not easy for us to let people in with all that's happened over the years but we can't stop living just because the world has come to turn on us."

"I understand." Elliot spoke, "And I accept it all. Might have a bit of a learning curve to get over but I won't be a problem now or later."

"Perfect." Smilled Tonka. "Skoll you can stop hovering now."

Not even a second later Skoll opened the door, leaning in. Elliot let out a small laugh. He had been right.
