CHAPTER TWO

(Written by Solomon Paul)

Sora crash-landed, bloodied and broken, at the gates of a secluded church. Barely conscious, she clutched a small child tightly in her arms. As the heavy doors creaked open, a nun gasped in shock. Sora, struggling to speak, begged:

Sora:
"Please... take him... keep him safe..."

Terrified by the strange being before her-wings tattered, a glowing mark carved across her back-the nun screamed. Sora quickly whispered, her voice fading:

Sora:
"I won't hurt you... just... save him..."

Then she collapsed.

Nearby villagers, alerted by the nun's cry, rushed to the church. The nun, hearing their approaching footsteps, made a snap decision. She dragged Sora inside and shut the doors tight.

When the villagers arrived, knocking curiously, she opened the door and spoke calmly.

Nun:
"I thought I saw something... but it must have been my imagination."

The villagers warned her to be cautious.

Villager:
"Be careful. Rumors say more creatures from the demon realm have crossed over lately. If you see anything strange-report it."

They eventually left.

Once she was sure the coast was clear, the nun returned to the room where she laid Sora and the child. She began treating Sora with holy medicine, gently washing her wounds. She then turned her attention to the infant-Amon-wrapping him in warm cloths.

---

An Hour Later...

Sora stirred awake, her body still weak but slowly healing. She sat up groggily.

Sora:
"Where... are we?"

Nun:
"A hidden chamber beneath the church. Only I know about it."

Sora:
"And... my son?"

Nun:
"He's asleep. Don't worry... But what are you? Who are you?"

Sora:
"My name is Sora. I'm the personal angel of Nathan... That's why you saw the Hollow mark on me."

The nun remained puzzled and continued to ask questions.

Nun:
"I thought angels had wings. Where are yours? Why doesn't your son have any? And why were you so injured?"

Sora:
"Amon... is part God, part Angel. That might be why his wings haven't manifested yet. I lost mine... I've been pursued by my fellow angels. I was severely wounded, and my mana was depleted. I had to flee. They're after me because of my son. Please... protect him when I no longer can."

The nun looked at the sleeping child, her heart softening.

Nun:
"I'll do it-for the child's sake."

Sora smiled weakly and handed her a necklace-a simple chain with a pendant that held tiny images of herself, Nathan, and Amon. It was more than a keepsake. It sealed fragments of Amon's power across the multiverse until the day he would be ready.

Then, without another word, Sora vanished into hiding.

Even with the seal in place, a faint glimmer of power still radiated from Amon.

---

10 Years Later...

Now ten years old, Amon had grown into a bright and cheerful boy. He often played with other children in the village, watched over by the same nun-Elizabeth-who had raised him like her own.

One afternoon, while the children played near the woods, a horde of monsters from the demon realm appeared. Screams echoed. The children scattered.

In the chaos, a young girl named Diane tripped and fell into a deep pit, twisting her leg.

Amon:
"Go get help! I'll stay with Diane!"

As the others ran, Amon stood protectively between Diane and the approaching beast. He fought valiantly but was quickly overpowered. With a final burst of courage, he shoved the monster off a cliff, then climbed down to help Diane out.

Just then, villagers arrived and rushed the children to safety.

But suddenly-from the shadows-the monster re-emerged.

CHOMP!

Before anyone could react, the creature bit Amon's head clean off.

The villagers killed the monster, rushing to aid the boy-but before their eyes, Amon's body began to glow.

Within seconds, his head regenerated.

Silence.

Terror.

Villager 1:
"What... what did we just see?"
Villager 2:
"He's not human! He's a monster! Burn him!"

They seized Amon, dragging him toward the village square. He struggled, confused and frightened.

Then, a voice rang out.

Elizabeth:
"LET HIM GO!"

The villagers froze.

Elizabeth:
"What are you doing to my son?"

Villager:
"He's not your son! He's a monster!"

Elizabeth:
"A monster? You think a nun would harbor such a thing? I've raised Amon for ten years. If anything were to happen, I'd take full responsibility."

But the villagers' minds were made up. They refused to let Amon stay.

That evening, Elizabeth packed his things. Tears streamed down her face.

Elizabeth:
"You'll go to my friend in the city. It's safer there. I've made arrangements. I'll miss you..."

Amon, sitting in silence, looked up.

Amon:
"What... am I?"

Elizabeth sat beside him and took a deep breath.

Elizabeth:
"Ten years ago... your mother came to our door. You looked just like her. She was injured. I was scared at first... but I grew to understand. She was an angel. Not a myth, not a dream-real. She told me you were part God, part Angel... a being that was never meant to exist. Heaven itself feared your birth."

Suddenly-crashing sounds.

Monsters burst into the village. Screams rang out. The church's protective barrier flared, trying to hold them off, but the swarm was too large.

The protective magic began to crumble.

The night was filled with terror. Flames rose. Blood soaked the earth. The monsters feasted on the innocent.

Elizabeth stood, holding Amon's trembling hand as the creatures closed in.
