Chapter 5
After the little fight Jackson had with Samuel they stayed in the Study for the rest of the day. Jackson was on one of the tables.
“Everything hurts!” Jackson said,
Samuel was in the middle of the room, on the floor. “Agreed, and I blame Mohan.”
“Also agreed.” Jackson said,
“Hey guys!” Carlene and Eric came into the Study, “How are you guys doing? How was training?”
Jackson and Samuel looked at eachother, and they both nodded. “Uhhh.” They both said.
“Well, it makes sense. Two crazy powerful beings such as yourselves, would destroy each other in a true battle.” Eric said.
“That makes sense actually.” Jackson said.
Carlene pushed Eric, “Don't even joke about that! Mostly because it’s possible, but also because it’s wrong! Did anyone win?”
Samuel raised his hand, “We need to work on it more, but we need something to fight. Since we’ll be working together of course.”
Jackson nodded, “Coordinate our attacks, oppose a greater opponent. Good idea.”
“Thanks.”
Carlene brought out a bag, “Well we brought food.”
“Food!” Both Samuel and Jackson said at the same time. They both forgot about their pain for a bit and went to their friends to eat. They had brought roasted spike, and a weird soup. Neither Samuel nor Jackson really cared what they were, just that they tasted good.
“So how was practice?” Eric asked,
Samuel looked up, “Jackson’s really good at using magic and combat, but I defeated him. He’s definitely getting the hang of his powers though.”
Jackson smiled, “Ya! I can go through walls, and run like Samuel, and I have armor! I have to show them!” Samuel smiled and nodded. Jackson got up, “You might want to stand back.” They did as told, “Comtenis!” Jackson yelled, a bolt of lightning somehow came down upon Jackson. He felt his gauntlet grow all over his body and he lost vision within an instant. He used his sight ability to see them. “What do you think?” He was fully in his armor, and could feel their excited faces.
“So you can just do that now?” Carlene asked excitedly.
Jackson smiled even though they wouldn’t be able to see it, “Yep.”
“Nice armor,” Eric looked at it, “What’s it made of?”
“I don't know. The gods never told me.” Jackson said he sent his armor back into the gauntlet, “But I do know it’s really durable, I’m not able to take fire damage, and I can’t actually see in it.”
Eric looked confused, “Then how do you see?”
“I can feel my surroundings by not even touching them.” Jackson said,
That just made them look more confused. Samuel came next to Jackson, “Let’s just call it telolocation, seeing things without sound or sight.”
Jackson smiled, “Perfect!”
The next day they had classes, and this was one of the parts of Marshlake Jackson didn’t like. The classes were all based around magic, and plus they didn't have time for classes. They were trying to stop a war, Samuel said they should wait for the Controllers to make their first move, but Jackson still wasn’t sure.
“What if it starts and we’re not there?” Jackson asked,
“I’m looking at the War Zone right now, nothing is happening.” Samuel said,
“Alright, but what if we just don't make it there in time.” Jackson asked,
Samuel looked at him like he already knew, “We both can run at the speed of light, I think we’re fine.”
Samuel was right, they were always going to be ready. Plus he was learning a lot of new magic, he had learned two new spells since classes had started taking breaks in between classes.
“Wait, what about their plans? Shouldn’t we try and figure out what they’re trying to do?” Jackson asked,
“We probably should try and figure out their plans, first the controllers of course. But I'm not sure I can see into other universes.” Samuel said.
Jackson thought for a second, “Wait, I'm directly connected to the void near the gods realm right?” Samuel nodded, “Then why don't I try to contact it? Eyser should be able to hear me.”
“Eyser?” Samuel asked.
“God of time and destiny. Or I could try and contact Imire, Eyser’s brother, god of space and comets” Jackson mused,
“You really know a lot about these gods.” Samuel said,
“It’s kind of my job now.” Jackson said, “It’s what I was Chosen for.”
