Chapter 6
Jackson decided the best way to connect with the gods would be through meditation, since he was already connected to the god realm. He was just sitting in the middle of the study meditating, Jackson could feel Samuel doing research as to what the other Godspeekers did. He focused on every single thing in the entire school, but he just got so bored.
“Uh this isn’t working!” Jackson wined,
“Well, maybe stop focusing on everything around you.” Samuel said, Jackson looked surprised, “Ya I know what you look like when you're using your powers.” He said.
“Uh, how am I supposed to know what the controllers are planning before the war even starts.” Jackson asked,
“I don’t know, but it says here that Imire only comes to those who ‘open their minds’ and find their center meaning.” Samuel read, “So, I don't know. Picture the war, and what will happen if we don't stop it.”
That was actually a good idea, Jackson closed his eyes and focused on the war. He couldn’t see anything, his eyes were closed. Wait no, he looked down. He saw his hands. What was happening?
‘That friend of yours, he’s smart, knows how to find me and everything.’ A voice said from behind Jackson, he turned around to see the cosmic pink god. Imire.
‘I need to know what Soro and the controllers are planning to use against each other’ Jackson demanded,
Imire giggled, ‘Wow little Godspeeker, I can't just give you Soro’s plan. He would kill me for that, not literally of course. I’d be punished tremendously.’ The god said.
‘Well can you at least tell me the controller's plan?’ Jackson asked,
‘Oh ya, no gods really care for those idiots.” The god yond, ‘Their planning on using knight’s magic.’
Jackson gasped, ‘What? They are using Knight’s magic, that was just a theory.’
‘Ya, funny how things turned out right?’ Imire laughed a little, and turned to Jackson. ‘They’re planning on using a destruction spell, meant to “destroy in large amounts.” Supposedly it can destroy a small part of a god's power.’ The god yond again, ‘It will destroy Soro’s army, and allow them to win the war. This will cause an imbalance and if you're lucky it will cause a rip in the multiverse, specifically Marshlake.’
Jackson gasped, ‘What’s Soro’s plan?’
‘Ha! The same plan he always has, fight, kill, win. This time, it might not end that way as you know. Don't tell anyone I told you that though. You have two days to prepare.’
Jackson politely nodded, ‘Thank you Imire, this is very useful.’ Jackson was about to leave, even though he didn’t know how he knew how to do it.
‘Jackson wait.’ Imire said. Jackson looked back, ‘Good luck, a lot of us are counting on you.’
Jackson nodded again, ‘Then I won't let you down.’
Jackson woke from meditation to see everyone around him, “Two days.”
Now that they knew they had only three days, they started to prepare.
“Alright, we have one day now. We know where it is, and we know what's happening.”
Everyone nodded, they were in the study. Everyone was there, Samuel, Eric, Carlene, Charles, and Sylvan.
“So quick question, why don't we just tell Soro the controller's plan?” Eric suggested,
“Well two things, it won't help in any way because he only has one place to enter from. Second, he doesn't like being told what to do. So if we tell him ‘Stop the war!’ He’ll basically just wave us off as little creatures who have no meaning in the world. So if you want to be slapped across the multiverse, be my guest.” Jackson said,
Eric nodded, “understood.”
“We’ll have to stop the spell somehow.” Jackson said,
Samuel looked up from a book he was reading, “What if we combine our powers? My energy combined with the power of the gods could do it. I could get started on a spell.”
“Good idea, that might be our only way of stopping them.” Jackson said, “That means all of you have to get everyone out.”
Everyone looked up at him, Sylvan grabbed his shoulder, “We’re not leaving you to fight two armies at once.”
“But it’s the only way.” Jackson said, he looked down “The only way.”
“Actually I might’ve found a way.” Samuel said, everyone looked up. He was drawing something.
“What is it?” Jackson asked.
“There.” Samuel held up a paper combined with multiple glyphs, “This is a ritual, I've been trying to create it for a while. I needed to recreate the lightning rune from the thing we saw the controllers holding, and I found this metal rune in some old books. This will deflect and destroy any spell the controllers throw at us.”
Jackson looked at it, “It’s perfect! How do we use it?”
“I just need to make the incantation, and it will be ready to use.” Samuel said, “It’s gonna be a long one though, you think you can keep them back long enough?”
“You bet.” Said Jackson,
“I’ve been working on this for weeks, this thing better work.” Samuel said,
“Is there a possibility it might not?” Jackson asked,
“Well, it’s not like we have time to test it.” Eric added.
“Alright, then you guys have a war to deal with. We’ll start getting people out of the school.” Sylvan said, Samuel nodded.
Samuel looked to Jackson, “let’s do this.”
