Chapter 7

This was the day of preparation, and were the controllers ready. Samuel and Jackson were ready for battle. Jackson had his gauntlet, and magic. Samuel had his staff, and magic. They were ready. They walked into the field where they once were training for this moment, the controllers had set up a camp. If it wasn’t such an important day, they probably would be dead already. They walked up to the commander, Samuel walked up to him.

“Is there any way we can change our mind about this?” Samuel asked.

The controller gazed at him in anger, “No.”

Samuel turned around and walked over to Jackson, “Let’s do this.” Jackson summoned his armor, making a hole through one of the controller's tents. Some made angry faces at them, but they weren’t attacking them. Not today.

Jackson and Samuel ran to the middle of the battle field, so beautiful and precious. It was today of all days that the grass was fully grown. Marshlake was about to face a fight, it has never fought before.

Jackson looked at Samuel and held out his fist, “Together?”

Samuel smiled, “Always.” He fist bumped with Jackson.

They stayed there for several hours, Jackson saw the controllers starting their ritual.

“Hey, they're starting theirs. We should get started.” Samuel nodded,

Samuel started to draw the five runes that would hopefully lead to their victory, Samuel looked at Jackson. They were in position. Jackson looked onto the horizon, but saw no army, no gods, nothing.

“Where’s Soro?” Samuel asked,

“God’s go at their own pace, he’s coming.” Jackson looked behind him to see that the controllers were prepared, they had soldiers ready, and the ritual ready for activation.

“Remember they cant activate the ritual before Soro comes, maybe if we stop him from coming…”

“I don't think we have enough time.” Jackson admitted,

“How do you know?” Samuel asked,

Jackson was looking to the mountains, using his Telolocation. “Because he’s here. He’s waiting gaining strength, and we do need that. Let him take his time.”

“Where is he?” Samuel asked,

Jackson pointed to the mountains to the right of them, “We all thought he’d go straight, he’s coming right.”

Samuel faced the right, and Jackson tapped his shoulder to make his look left again. “We want them to think that.”

Multiple minutes went by, and nothing happened. Soro was playing his cards close to his chest, and he was doing it well.

Samuel stood up for a second and looked to the mountain, “I think he’s here.”

Jackson looked to the mountains and saw a massive amount of things going over the mountain, he couldn’t tell what they were. They looked like skeletons on fire, basically Ghost Rider with no bike and more medieval. They were running quickly, and they all had swords and bows. Literally skeletons from the underworld. The controllers were preparing for their spell.

“Samuel get ready.” Jackson said,

“Got it. Ready to cast at any time.” Samuel said.

Jackson watched the controllers, but they weren’t moving.

“Hey, Sam, something's wrong.” Jackson said, and looked at Samuel.

“I found out.” Samuel said Jackson looked up to see the controllers preparing to cast the spell in the middle of the battlefield. Samuel and Jackson both ran at top speeds to the battlefield, and prepared the spell. Again.

The controller commander saw them, “You two stay out of our business for once!”

“No thank you!” Jackson yelled back.

“Activate the spell!” The commander yelled

A wave of energy erupted from the controllers Samuel, at the same time activated their spell. The controllers spell went right into them and at the same time their spell pushed the controllers spell back, and destroyed it. The spell had worked!
“Yes!” Jackson yelled,

He turned to Samuel who was looking at Soro’s army, when Jackson saw a wave of fire erupted from them. Jackson was too slow to make a shield. Samuel, on the other hand, ran in front of Jackson and slid his staff on the floor. It made a line, and rose to create a dome around them. The blast of heat hit the shield, and went past them to destroy the controllers. Jackson looked back to congratulate his friend, but when he did he saw him struggling to hold the shield. Jackson ran to Samuel and sent his energy into the shield, and the shield thickened. Jackson on the other hand, could feel the energy being drained from his body. His power erupted into a blue flame. Before he passed out he looked at Samuel and created a stone dome to protect them. Then he blacked out.

An adventure through a world of magic, showing that even people who are considered different can be chosen for great things. This time, a new power comes into play. With a new Chosen, what events are to come in book three in Rise of Marshlake. One more thing, I think Samuel needs some time off.
