Chapter 8
Jackson had visions of the gods hall, and the battlefield. He saw the army, and the controllers. They didn’t stand a chance, they had to have died. He saw Samuel pull up the shield, and he saw himself create the pit. He saw himself in a healing room, and the doctors saying there was nothing they could do with his armor on him. Saying he was going to die from the energy that pulsed through him. He woke up.
“Not if I could take it off.” He said to the group, he saw Samuel. “Did we?”
Samuel stopped him, “You. You did it, not me. I was just a friend protecting a friend.” Samuel crouched down next to him, “And that’s why we don't use up all of our mana.”
Jackson gave a thumbs up, “Got it.”
The next week went by in a flash, they got him out of the hospital. They made sure all of the controllers were gone, and of course they made sure Soro had nothing at the mountain.
“So the spell worked?” Jackson asked when laying on the ground on the battlefield they almost destroyed the world on.
“Yep.” Samuel said,
“And the controllers, they…”
“They left in peace, as long as we don't contact the gods to come to our world we’re fine.” Samuel assured him.
Jackson sighed, and looked at the sky. “Do you think we can come back here again?” He asked, “You know without causing any more problems.”
It took Samuel a second to answer the questions, “I’ve been going through the Great knight’s folders, they speak of us.”
“Us?” Jackson asked,
“Yep. The Master Knight and the Godspeeker. There were a few more, but they came later. If I tell you any more it might change the world.” Samuel admitted.
“You knew I was going to become the Godspeeker.” Jackson said,
“No.” Samuel admitted, “Technically it could have been anyone, but I didn’t know about this war. Or the ending in it, neither then the Great Knight. He kept himself out of the future.”
“So what now?” Jackson asked,
“Well first let’s go to your naming ceremony like we did for me. Then we’ll figure it out from there.” Samuel said,
Samuel had one last year, it was where he was named the Master Knight. It was time Jackson had his own and officially became the Godspeeker
“Not the best name to be put down in history as. ‘Jackson Liberta, the human. The Godspeeker.’”
Samuel laughed and looked at him, “Sorry buddy but if they do call you the Godspeeker you're stuck with it for life.”
“Wait actually?” Jackson asked,
“Yep.” Samuel said,
“I can't be like, ‘The all mighty killer of all!’” Jackson laughed,
“No actually that name was already taken.” Samuel said,
Jackson’s eyes widened, “Really?”
“Yep, wasn’t the best person in the world.” Samuel said, “Come on we should get to the study, we’re leaving soon.”
Samuel got up and started walking to the school, Jackson started to follow. Then stopped, he looked back at the battlefield and waved goodbye. He dashed to Samuel and prepared to go to Elflem.
Jackson entered the hallway of the counsel in his armor, as it turned out was custom for the gods. He bowed in front of the counsel, and looked around. One of the council members looked down upon him and bowed their head, and so did all the others.
“Samuel Knight, and Jackson Liberta, please step forward.” One of them said,
Samuel came next to Jackson liberta, and stepped onto a platform. It started to float into the air and both Jackson and Samuel came into view with the council.
“You both have been through a lot with the counsel, you have both been here twice. When one elf is lucky to be here once in their lifetimes.” One council member said.
“You have proven yourselves worthy of being known as the protectors of Marshlake and its citizens,” said another.
“You have truly changed Marshlake for the better.” Said another.
“We wish you two a safe trip home, and that you come back next year.” Said another.
“For our protectors are known as the knights! Samuel Knight, The Master Knight! and Jackson Liberta, Godspeeker!”
Samuel looked at Jackson, “Welcome to the club.”
“I think I’ll like the club.” Jackson said.
Samuel, Jackson and all their friends were then put in the middle of the city. The counsel flew around them announcing their names, and their titles.
Samuel punched Jackson's shoulder, “Godspeeker.”
Jackson punched Samuels shoulder, “Master Knight.”
They let the festivities continue, until they needed to return home.
