Back at the Garuda, Team Star Riders get word on a new tournament on the planet Hydrus, the Aquarian home world. This tournament is located in Abyssal city and is a team elimination tournament. Unlike normal tournaments, team elimination tournaments focus on three vs three team battles. If one team member falls but the rest win the match, the team will be down one member for the rest of the tournament. Knowing this, each of the members of Team Star Riders discuss what to do in this tournament.
“Alright. From what I can tell, as long as one of us makes it to the end and wins, we’ll all get the win for this tournament.” Says Lucian, confident about their chances.
“That’ll be easier said than done. It would appear that the other combatants have the same idea as we do.” Ava says as she looks over the list of combatants.
“If we’re going to win this, we’ll have to play to our strengths. Once the competition is done for, we’ll be on our way. We’ll kick ass and take names!” Says Garon, ready for a fight.
“They’re right. Cooperation will be our greatest advantage. A few of these teams seem to be one trick ponies. Adaptability will be our friend.” Says Jotun, speaking for the first time.
This immediately catches everyone off guard. Garon especially did not expect to hear their mech speaking what so ever.
“Woah, woah, woah! Since when could you talk?” Asks Garron with shock in their voice.
“Give or take a few hours ago. Valkyrie helped me figure it out.” Says Jotun.
After a lengthy conversation and an even lengthier explanation, The Star riders exit the Garuda and set foot on Abyssal city. The Team starts by asking the locals for directions. Eventually, they figure out the location of the stadium the tournament is being held at. As they begin to head for the stadium, Lucian bumps into Ragnar wearing a shadowy cloak. Ragnar looks at Lucian with disdain in his eyes before leaving. Lucian can’t help but wonder what was wrong with this particular human and why Ragnar was acting all suspicious.
“What the hell is his problem?” Asks Lucian.
“Beats me. Let’s just focus on the tournament for now.” Says Ava.
After traveling for a few minutes, they finally arrive at the stadium hosting the Abyssal city major league tournament. Stadiums on Hydrus are notable for the fact that they are located underwater. As such, the Star Riders take a nearby lift in order to enter the stadium. Upon doing so, they can’t help but be amazed by the various sea life that swims around them. Once the lift stops at the main floor, the Star Riders approach the reception desk and sign up for the tournament. The Receptionist tells the Team to wait at room 712. As they head for their room, Lucian catches a glimpse of Ragnar and his mech. Fenrir also notices the mech in question. It was a YU-TYR4 yutyrannus unit. But unlike the ones the Trinity Alliance makes, this one has pronated wrists and a skeletal armor similar to the allosaurus unit from the last tournament. It would also appear Ragnar did not come alone as he is joined by two cloaked figures with a serpent mark on their back. Before they could ponder the intentions of Ragnar, Lucian and Fenrir are called by the rest of the Team and joins them in the waiting room. Meanwhile, Ragnar makes a call while heading for his waiting room.
“I’ve found it. I know where it’s hiding my lord.” Says Ragnar.
“And where is it Ragnar?” Asks the figure on the other side.
“It’s in the possession of a Canid. It’s likely to have been installed into its mech.” Ragnar says, describing Lucian with apathy in his voice.
“Make sure you get your hands on that mech. The Adaptus program will bring about our dominance over the Galaxy!” Says the Mysterious figure.
“It will be done, Lord Drasil.” Says Ragnar.
“And Ragnar. Kill anyone who stands in your way.” Says King Drasil, Leader of Ragnarök.
“Yes, my lord.” Says Ragnar before heading for his room to wait for the first match.
