The future through a dream

Dark demons life in neon city 3

Dark demons life in neon city 3

Jul 30, 2025

Scene: White Gang HQ – Upper Terrace, Late Night

The sky is static blue.
The wind hums with neon.
Yen stands across from Greyy.

Greyy’s armor is half removed. Just a sleeveless hoodie now.
He’s real in this moment. Not a leader. Just a guy.

Yen: “I… I think it’s time I go.”
Greyy: (Doesn’t act surprised) “Your own gang?”
Yen: “Yeah. One day I want Night, Sun, 900 with me… but even alone, I need to try.”

There’s a pause. No anger. Just understanding.

Greyy walks over. Tosses him a glowing chip.

Greyy: “Founder’s Key. I had one too, back then.”

Yen catches it. His hands shake a little.

Greyy: “We’re still friends, right?”
Yen: (smiling) “Always.”

They share a moment. Quiet.
Just deep. Unspoken respect.

Next Day — CyberCity Central Terminal

Yen stands alone in the plaza.

He activates the chip.
A digital flare rises into the air.

[New Gang Created: DUNGEON DWELLERS]

He watches the invite system unlock.
Three names in his mind:
Night. Sun. 900.

One day…
They’ll all be under the same flag.

But for now, it’s just him.

And the dream.

Scene: The Burn District – Market Alley near the Dungeon Portal

Yen jogged in loops around the alley, fists clenched, steam rising from the cracked pavement as his boots slapped the ground. Above, the neon signs flickered while his XP bar lagged behind—Level 60.

"Can’t believe you both left me in the dust like that!" he grumbled loud enough for the synth merchants to glance his way.

Sun trailed behind him, slightly out of breath, a quiet pout on her lips. "We were just… trying to see who could hit triple digits first. It wasn’t about you, Yen."

"You think that makes it better?" he snapped, glaring over his shoulder. But his tone softened when he saw the guilt on her face.

A few seconds passed.

"...Fine," he sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry. I just... hate being the slow one."

Sun nodded, walked up, and offered a small smile. “Come on then. Let's grind until your hands fall off.”

---

Montage – Dungeon Run

Flashes of combat: swipes of Yen’s blade, Sun nuking mobs with photon bursts, both dodging AI-powered monsters. After hours of grinding, Level 60 flashed across Yen’s screen. Exhausted, but smiling.

---

Later that night, by the neon-lit bridge in Central Node...

Yen, leaning against the railing, turned to Sun.

“Hey… where’s Night?”

Sun hesitated. “...He’s not around.”

Yen squinted. “What do you mean ‘not around’? You two are usually inseparable.”

She looked away, silent.

That silence said more than words.

Suspicious, Yen messaged Night directly.

> Yen: Yo. What’s going on with you and Sun?

A few seconds ticked by.

> Night: Nothing serious. We just got into a fight. No big deal.

Yen stared at the message, the glow of the bridge lights bouncing off his visor.

“…Yeah. Sure.”

Scene: The Central Core Plaza – Nightfall

The plaza buzzed with players, holograms, and trade shouts—but Yen stood still in the middle of it, staring at a private message.

> Sun: "Tell Night I’m sorry… I was being immature. I shouldn’t have acted like that."

Yen’s brows furrowed. He blinked at the message again. What was that about?

He opened a chat with Night.

> Yen: “Hey… got a weird message from Sun. She says she’s sorry for being immature or something.”

> Night: “What?”

A pause.

> Yen: “Exactly. What’s going on?”

> Night: “...I don’t know.”

Then silence.

Yen leaned back against the base of a crystalline info tower, drumming his fingers against the wall, waiting. Minutes passed. No reply from Sun. He tried messaging her again.

> Yen: “Sun? Everything okay?”

No response.

Night pinged him.

> Night: “She’s not replying.”

> Yen: “She ghosted both of us?”

Night didn’t respond for a long time. When he finally did, it was short.

> Night: “It’s my fault.”

> Yen: “Your fault? What did you do?”

The typing dots appeared… then vanished… appeared again… then stopped.

Yen growled under his breath. “Don’t give me half a message, man. What did you do?”

Night finally responded.

> Night: “...I shouldn't have said what I said. I got insecure. We weren’t hanging out like before, and… yeah.”

That was it.

Yen narrowed his eyes. He didn’t say they broke up. He didn’t say it directly. But something cracked under that sentence. And everything started to line up in Yen’s head.

Sun’s message.

Her silence.

Night’s guilt.

They fought. Probably broke up. And Night was too crushed to admit it out loud.

Yen exhaled, letting the weight settle.

Night pinged him again.

> Night: “I think I need to leave the game for a bit. Clear my head.”

Yen stared at the message, then slowly typed:

> Yen: “Alright. Check in with me outside. Let me know when you’re coming back. I’ll be ready for you then.”

There was no reply after that.

Just the fading sound of ambient music, and Yen standing alone in the digital wind.

Scene: Central Forge District – Late Evening

The heat from the forge flickered against Yen’s face as he adjusted the clasps on a half-finished Explorer’s Backpack. His hands moved with precision, but his thoughts were somewhere else.

Sun stood nearby, silent for a while now, watching the neon-orange stitching shimmer in the air.

Finally, she asked, “...He’s not coming back for a while, is he?”

Yen paused. His fingers stilled.

Then, calmly, without looking up, he said, “Yeah. He needs time. Stuff happened. Not your fault, okay?”

Sun didn’t speak. But the way her shoulders shifted, the way she held her hands—she was blaming herself.

Yen forced a small smile and looked at her. “Seriously. He’s okay. We still talk. He just needed a reset. Like everyone does sometimes.”

She nodded, quietly, and shifted her focus to the forge flame.

They never talked about it again.

---

Scene: Yen’s Workshop Terminal – RL (Real Life)

Yen leaned back in his old chair, cracked leather squeaking under him. A message tab flickered in the corner:

> Night: “Any progress on that backpack grind?”

Yen grinned.

> Yen: “Level 3 now. Explorer’s Backpack complete. Sun and I are tag-teaming resources. Still stuck in RL150, though.”

> Night: “Damn. You’re seriously going for the Quantum Storage Unit, huh?”

> Yen: “One guy has it in the whole server. It’s insane. Worth it.”

> Night: “You’re gonna be the second.”

Yen didn’t reply to that. Just smirked and typed:

> Yen: “You better be online when I craft it.”

> Night: “Wouldn’t miss it.”

---

Scene: Digital Plains – RL150 – Nightfall

Sun and Yen stood at the edge of a desolate ridge, looking out over glowing crystal fields below. She handed him rare alloy threads. “You’re really gonna beat the record, huh?”

He gave a tired laugh. “We’ll see. Only two more tiers.”

> 1. Old Pouch ✔️

2. Fanny Pack ✔️

3. Explorer’s Backpack ✔️

4. Employee’s Briefcase ⏳

5. Ortau-Noma Storage Core

6. Quantum Storage Unit 🔒

Sun looked over the tracker on his HUD. “You’re insane.”

Yen shrugged. “I don’t need to be fast. I just need to finish it. You in?”

Sun grinned. “I’m not letting you beat me alone.”

They fist-bumped, and then jumped down into the glowing field—ready for the next grind.

Scene: DALL·E Gang Hideout – VR Terminal Room

A neon banner shimmered above the entrance:
“DALL·E // Dungeon Artificers Living Large Eternally”

Yen scrolled through the member list, eyes locking on a recent update:

> [Knight] – Joined 1 day ago

He smirked. Night always had good timing.

Just then, Sun logged in beside him. “Hey, I brought the rare fabrics from Sector 12—” She stopped mid-sentence, eyes locking on Knight’s avatar lounging by the armory wall.

“...Wait,” she blinked. “When did he join?”

Yen rubbed the back of his neck, sheepish. “Yesterday. You didn’t log in, CTO.”

Sun folded her arms. “I was handling your stupid blueprint requests in real life.”

He laughed. “You sound like you’re mad.”

“I’m not,” she said quickly, then shrugged. “Okay, maybe a little. But it’s fine.” Her eyes lingered on Knight. “...It’s good he’s here.”

And just like that—they moved on.

---

Scene: Main Base – DALL·E Community Hall

The hall was alive. Members gathered, sharing loot, cracking jokes, running crafting drills. The crew had grown—there was:

MudMasher – the brawler who never skipped a boss fight

Elios – the mysterious local guru who always showed up with the right answer

Willow – soft-voiced healer, low-level but high-respect

Knight, Sun, Yen – the core

The room was lit with holograms and laughter. Yen stood at the top of the staircase, looking down at them all.

Twenty-five names glowed in the member roster.
His gang. His family.

Knight walked up beside him, folding his arms. “You made it, kid. Look at them.”

Yen smirked. “We made it. This... this is what I wanted. A real crew. A home server worth fighting for.”

Knight nodded. “Let’s keep it alive.”

Yen didn’t say anything. He just looked down again at the glow of it all—like a dream he didn’t know he could actually reach.

Scene: Summer Event Grounds – Crystal Shores

The sun blazed across the pixelated sky, bathing the artificial ocean in golden shimmer. A giant event banner pulsed in the air:

> ☀️ SUMMER BLOWOUT FESTIVAL – COLLECT SHELLS, SNAG LEGENDARIES, CHILL OUT ☀️

The beach buzzed with energy. Dozens of players ran mini-games, surfed on waterboards, grilled digital fish, or battled sand golems for seashell currency. Laughter echoed. Music thumped from nearby speakers. Soda Pops—bright neon bottles with “+50% XP” on them—fizzed like fireworks.

Yen and Sun arrived at the warp gate, stepping into the festival hub.

“Whoa,” Sun said, pulling off her visor and squinting. “I forgot how massive these events are.”

Yen smiled. “This is more than an event. It’s the only time everyone chills in one place. No PvP zones, no raid alerts—just... vibes.”

They walked past the shell exchange stalls, where rare Coral Keys and Tidecrasher Containers were being sold. Yen’s eyes sparkled.

“These containers,” he muttered, “they drop quantum crafting cores, you know.”

Sun nodded. “Better than grinding through bugs in Ortau.”

Just then, a voice called out behind them.

“Yo... Yen?!”

Yen turned, freezing mid-step.

From across the firepit lounge walked Grey, decked out in his silver-trimmed battle hoodie, with Sayo beside him in her violet-glass armor and smirking like she always did.

Behind them stood the unmistakable colors of White Gang—his old crew.

“Didn’t think we’d run into you,” Grey said, grinning.

Yen chuckled. “Didn’t think you’d show up outside a leaderboard.”

Sayo stepped forward. “Still crafting backpacks?”

Sun’s eyebrow twitched. “Still salty you couldn’t make your own?”

The tension was real—but not toxic. Just old rivalry dressed in beachwear.

Knight walked up behind them, sipping his soda pop. “Well, well. Full reunion, huh?”

Yen nodded. “Yeah... but this time, we’re not enemies. Not today.”

Grey extended a fist. Yen bumped it.

Sayo smiled faintly. “Race you to 1,000 shells?”

“You’re on.”

---

Cut to: Beach Challenges Montage

Yen and Knight slam bottles of Soda Pop before launching into a surfing race.

Sun and Sayo go head-to-head in a crab-collecting mini-game.

The gangs—DALL·E, White, Grey—all mix, laugh, and chill under a glowing summer sun.

For a moment, no grudges, no levels—just friends and rivals sharing a memory.
