You know Maddox got turned tranquil for sending letters but if you have Bethany in the circle she can send letters to you. The difference it makes to be a noble and related to the champion. Also his parents were swordsmiths, and I suspect it was beneficial for the templars to have a tranquil who was already good at making all types of metal stuff, but now could do stuff with enchantments and lyrium ú_ù
Also realistically josie would not say old lover and just the name, but lets see how long i can go on without having to invent a name dfgdfggdf
