“Hey again, Yuki. I’m going on a trip to Ishigaki City, so I won't be back in a few days. You won’t mind being alone with May again, right?”
“Yeah, sure, you can go, just stay safe okay?”
“Yeah, I will.”
I went upstairs to pack my stuff in my room.
I brought two luggages with me packed with my clothes, a little food and water (not that I needed them, just wanted to look human), my phone, and many other things that I thought were going to be important on my trip like a notebook for some notes.
I turned on my phone and looked for flights to book, and I chose the earliest one: Narita flight. Well, it was Chikou that chose it for me because it took me too long to find a flight. Tomorrow at 7:15 is where I arrive at the airport and 11:05 is where I arrive at Ishigaki City.
I finished packing all my stuff. It was getting late, right now at 9:00 in the night. I went to May’s room to see what she was doing.
I peeked and May was playing video games on her phone and she was on her bed laying down. I looked closer and saw she had a new phone.
Her old phone was so buggy and outdated and it looked like her phone was the newest model.
“Did Yuki buy that phone for you, May?”
“Eeeek!!!” she jumped up from her seat and yelled. I must’ve scared her. She fell on her back and her new phone landed on her face with a bonk.
“Owwww…” she said, grabbing her phone and holding her face. There was a tiny bruise on her forehead and her black hair with blue highlights spread all over the floor like when you pour paint on your piece of paper.
“Why’d you have to scare me like that, big bro…?”
“I saw you playing video games instead of doing your homework, idiot.”
“I did my homework, you stupid, dummy, idiot, big bro!” She got up and tried to grab and pounce on me but I moved out of the way. Then Yuki came inside her room.
“What's goin’ on? I heard all this commotion while I was cooking so I-” before yuki could finish, May crashed into Yuki which made both of them fall down.

A little while later, Yuki was scolding me while I sat there on the floor with a blank face, zoning out.
So why was I getting scolded instead of May? Well, when May was about to get scolded, she used her “puppy dog eyes”, or that’s what Yuki and May called them and Yuki thought may looked too cute, so instead of scolding May, she was now scolding me.
I saw many snickering behind Yuki and smiling mischievously.
What a spoiled little brat.
I said with my poker face, I forgot how to get mad and irritated, so I instead got up and bonked May on the head gently
…
And that made me get in more trouble.
After an hour of scolding, Yuki walked out of the room, leaving May laughing her ass off and me sitting there, forgetting everything Yuki just said.
“You really got your own older brother in trouble, and it wasn’t my fault too.”
“Hell yeah it is! You scared me the heck outta me!”
“I don't care, it's bedtime, and you are playing video games on your phone before bed, that's bad for your eyes, you aren’t even using dark mode or a blue light filter.” I explained carefully for May, hoping she would listen to me.
“Fine! Whatever! I’ll go to sleep!” Luckily, she did listen to me. No more problems now.
"Why do I have to go to sleep earlier than you though?"
"Because you have school."
"What about you?"
"Dropped out when I went to the military, I got all the knowledge I need anyways."
"Tch."
She storms out of her room and into the bathroom, she came out a few seconds later and was brushing her teeth. “I hate you, big bro…” she mumbles, brushing her teeth up and down. “But it doesn't mean that I don't also love you too…” she whispered, blushing a little.
After two minutes, she goes back to the bathroom, spits out the toothpaste foam into the sink and puts water in her mouth, then spits the water out into the sink. She came back to her room and I closed the lights while May changed to her pajamas and went under the bed blankets.
I took her phone so she doesn’t play video games secretly.
“Goodnight, big bro.”
“Goodnight, May.”
I went out of her room and closed the doors. Then I heard Yuki call out from the kitchen.
“Dinners ready!”
I went downstairs with a whole lot of food on the dinner table. Yuki sat there at the end of the long and brown wooden table with a smile on her face. I sat down at the other end of the table and started to eat.
Despite not having taste buds, I still tried to enjoy the food Yuki cooked, but I didn’t even know what it feels like to be overjoyed anymore.
“May’s not coming?” she said, raising her eyebrow.
“Yeah, I sent her to bed because it was her bedtime.”
“A bedtime at age 13? You're crazy, Rei, haha!”
After a few minutes of eating later.
“So, Rei, how does it feel to not have any emotions?” she said, still with that big bright smile.
