Inside the hospital, Nari and her child were still under treatment. In the room, a doctor spoke quietly with a nurse.
Doctor: “Her condition has improved.”
Nurse: “Yes, she’s responding well to the treatment, but she needs rest.”
Doctor: “Make sure she stays under observation. The police will want to question her soon.”
Nurse: “Yes, doctor.”
The doctor turned to leave, but before stepping out, his eyes fell on Nari. Her body shifted. She was stirring, slowly regaining consciousness.
Doctor: “She… she’s waking up! Nurse, go inform the officers immediately!”
Nari’s eyelids fluttered, opening little by little. Her lips trembled as she whispered, “Jay…”
The nurse rushed down the hall and called out loudly, “Officers! She’s awake! Please, come quickly!”
Both the police and the nurse hurried back into the room. Meanwhile, Nari’s weak voice quivered as she looked at the doctor. Her eyes were blurry and wet with tears.
Nari: “Doctor… where is my child? Who brought me here? Was it my husband? But… where is my husband?”
Doctor: “Please stay calm. Don’t strain yourself. Your child is safe.”
At the same time,
Rudra stopped in front of the wall-mounted computer monitor, scanning through the list of patients.
Rudra (muttering): “Room 262… that’s where the child is. I hope the cops aren’t there yet.”
He glanced around the corridor—empty.
Step… step… step.
He moved quickly toward Room 262.
Rudra: “No police yet. I can go inside.”
Click.
The door unlocked, and Rudra slowly pushed it open—his eyes falling on the child inside.
—
Nari clutched the bedsheet weakly, her voice trembling.
Nari: “Please… take me to my child. I want to see him…”
Tears streamed down her face—the pain of separation weighing on her heart, every beat echoing how deeply she missed her son.
