The final round of the Abyssal city tournament begins. The crowd awaits with baited breath for the combatants to enter the arena. The Announcer enters the arena to introduce the combatants.

“People of the Galaxy! Welcome to the final round of the Abyssal city tournament!” Says the Announcer with excitement in their voice.

“To start, we have a team who has recently taken the stars by storm. Give it up for Team Star Riders!” Says the Announcer, introducing the Team to the cheering crowd.

“Their opponent in this match is a team shrouded in mystery. Introducing Ragnarök!” Says the Announcer, the crowd completely silent upon seeing the mechs.

“Now with the introductions out of the way, let’s get ready to Rumble!” The Announcer says as the match starts.

As soon as the match starts, the Star Riders notice something off. The Ragnarök mechs just stood there, not moving a single carbon fiber muscle. Suddenly, Fury slices the heads of the mechs beside it clean off. The mechs collapse to the ground motionless. From there, Fury moved it left arm in a gesture telling the Star Riders to fight. Thinking they now have an advantage in this three on one fight, Jotun charges at Fury with buzzsaws at the ready. Just then, Fury slices Jotun’s right arm off causing the ape to stumble.

“What the hell is this mech made?!” Says Garon, shocked by the power of Ragnar’s mech.

“Doesn’t matter. Let’s just focus on beating this guy.” Says Jotun as he tries to get back up.

Valkyrie soars into the air and fires at Fury with her laser cannons. Meanwhile, Fenrir transforms into his knight form and goes to slice Fury with his sword. Fury catches the blade and tosses Fenrir aside. Fury then leaps into the air using its thrusters and slices off one of Valkyries wings with a blade connected to the thrusters. Valkyrie crashes to the ground beside Jotun while Fury lands on its feet.

“This guy just doesn’t know when to quit. Doesn’t he know how reckless he’s being?!” Says Valkyrie, barely able to stand after that attack.

“If you ask me, this guy knows what he’s doing and doesn’t care. Let’s take him down before things go from bad to worse.” Says Jotun, readying his pulse cannon.

Just as Valkyrie and Jotun where about open fire, Fury rushes both of them and slams them against the wall, taking the owl and ape out instantly. That is when Fenrir gets back up. Upon seeing Valkyrie and Jotun out of commission, rage begins to fill up in Fenrir’s core. Ragnar decides to take to opportunity mock the sole Star Rider standing.

“Is this really best you can do? You wield the most powerful weapon in the galaxy and waste it on these useless piles of scrap. If you value your life, you’d hand over the adaptus program to me. Now!” Demands Ragnar, disappointed by Lucian and Fenrir.

Suddenly, Fenrir’s eyes begin to glow a bright red. Fenrir then becomes engulfed in a green glow, his armor changing all the while. The new armor is a vibrant green color with a more geometric shape and is armed with laser blasters on the shoulders and twin pulse plasma cannons on the back. In the driver’s seat, Lucian sees on the screen the name of this new armor, the berserker armor. Fenrir begins to rapidly fire the laser blasters while Fury charges at him, Fury just barely dodging each shot.  Fury then leaps into the air and readies its claws for a powerful attack. Before Fury could do so, Fenrir aims his pulse plasma cannons and fires a devastating shot at point blank range. Fury only barely dodges it but not unscathed. The shot had torn through Fury’s armor and blown its left arm clean off. As Fenrir readies for another shot, Fury leaps onto the entrance of the stadium and looks at Fenrir.

“So, this is the power of the adaptus program. Consider yourself lucky dog. You get to live for now. Next time we meet, I’ll take your mech from the remnants of your corpse.” Says Ragnar before leaving.

With Fury gone, the Star Riders win the Abyssal tournament. Fenrir eventually calms down and reverts back to his normal form. Meanwhile, Lucian exits Fenrir and goes to check on the others. Luckily for him, Ava and Garon weren’t injured too badly though their mechs are in need of repair. As the crowd cheers, something comes across Lucian’s mind. That fight didn’t feel like a win. It felt more a fight for survival than a fair battle. As the rest of the Team prepares to return to the Garuda, Lucian can’t help but wonder what Ragnarök’s intentions really where.

“Who are Ragnarök and why were they after Fenrir and this adaptus program?” Lucian thinks to himself.
