It's only mid-day and Alex is still asleep. Seff folded him into a large and fluffy blanket while Akhmin and the others are figuring out the plan. As the others are circling with ideas outside, Achiin is half-comatose in his father's bedroom. Seff holds his brother's arm tight as it steams with blue striking scars on the bottom of his right wrist. He's thinking of Alex as well, tearing up from his blank stare and stillness after the shock of his brother hitting the floor.
Akhmin's room was a nest full of fluffy feathers, large and comfortable with soft pillows in abundance set in the middle of the floor. Some tapestries were looming over a window and a picture of Seff's mother was seen glistening in the corner with sentimental bobbles of sparkling stones, keepsakes, and jewelry. An aromatic metal capsule with petal-etched openings was seen to the right of it as well, relinquishing a tart and sweet scent of berries. The lady in the picture, brown feathers drooping long and furled with darker brown markings of stripes across her back plumage. Speckles were somewhat visible at the ends and white lining around her eyes. She was smiling with amber irises, quite like Achiin's yet slightly darker.
As the sun sets, the windows become dimmer, wading the light as it shines over the cloudy summits of higher islands. Seff, his tears becoming dried lines, speaks to his brother with a straight face, on his knees as he firms the wraps he tended his arm with. "Achiin..." Seff gets up and wipes what little salty drops he had left and walks toward the sliding door. He looks back a tad and says "I wish that thing hadn't... shocked you" he doesn't know what else to say... he's at a loss for words and can't blame anyone. He can only blame himself for not being there to block it.
Achiin opens his eyes to slits and looks up at the door, the thought of Alex's blood still in his head. He's more worried about Alex and if he's ok. He thinks to himself, "If Alex really is a chiro like the scorpion... then maybe he will be ok? And maybe that scorpion isn't a bad guy..." A single glowing blue tear falls from his right eye as he lay in bed hoping that Alex comes to life once again. Apparently he can feel the chill of it still lingering, his soul. Before closing his eyes, the weeping one folds a glowing blue sheen into his amber iris. He fades to a slumber as his single tear dissipates into a stream of smoke wafting upward with the incense.
Everyone else is out in front of the cabin. Akhmin knows only one way to get to where they need to go. "Someone important I've had ties with is in the commune event today", Akhmin states. "He could take us to where we need to be. It could be problematic, though, there've been some issues with the road from what I heard with Avis. He's been through a lot lately, what with the Dovrah's demands..." Elkhra is pondering about the commune and what would happen if Akhmin wasn't here to attend. He is the chief after all. "Hey the commune gathering would need someone to keep it, right?" Akhmin turns to nod and smiles. "Ah, Takhra could take my place until I got back. Good idea, Elk." Elkhra stares dumbfounded. He didn't specify anything but, sure. That works, actually.
The bug drone looks at the crew, watching Seff pat Alex's face while he snores loudly, mouth wide open. Akhmin looms over the both of them, staring deeply at the robot with slight intimidation. The chiro scorpion skitters backward in terror as it views Akhmin in their sensors. Akhmin closes their eyes and stands upright, their hands behind their back. "The scorpion comes with. We need them for the integrity of Alex's body. It also seems he needs it to leave or have where he's going." He turns to the scorpion bot, walking up to it, and looks down upon it. "Make sure you think before you do anything... robot..."
As the group is finished speaking to eachother, Achiin springs up from bed. He blinks his eyes with a desperate look. Running outside, he catches up to the group before they leave. "ZYPHON!!..." Akhmin twists his eyebrow with confusion. As Achiin pants, he continues, "His name is Zyphon. For some reason the--... they keep eating *huff*.. and sipping... things off the ground.. when we drop stuff... I guess they like cleaning?" Akhmin winces but relaxes his silent snarl. "Why aren't you in bed...? And how... did you know what I said?" Achiin squints and blinks again, their eye pulsing blue. Akhmin stares at his right eye appalled. "That thing really did hurt you didn't it..." Achiin shakes his head harshly, "BUT I'm fine and that's all that matters... I don't even feel pain anymore." Akhmin grips his right arm, the lightning stricken lines of aura cyan glowing under his skin. Achiin doesn't flinch one bit. Surprised, Akhmin lets go. "Ok you can come with... ON ONE CONDITION" Achiin stands at attention. "You take several naps on the way to and from GOT IT?" Achiin nods with a "Yes, Vathi!" and starts running toward the others, almost tripping on a rock but stopping right before, lifting his foot and looking down. He continues slowly walking toward them instead, smiling. Akhmin squints at this.
When Akhmin comes back to the group, Achiin pokes Alex as he's in a slumber while the others roll over some last minute thoughts and preparations. Akhmin tells Elkhra to go get his father to be temporary chief of Raphiim. "I also believe we need someone to care for the bova while we're gone... oh and don't forget there's fresh meat, cylanta, and prisma in the outdoor pantry!" Elkhra runs off down the small hill onto the road with his tail whipping in the wind. He nearly disappears past all the tall grasses and bugs glow as he passes.
Akhmin looks over to Seff and tells him to make sure they have everything before the long journey. Achiin plays with Zyphon as Seff comes back with a little trinket he got from his 'mintha' or 'mother'. It was a necklace that could also be used as a bracelet. The beads were slightly spiralled with hints of dark and light blues and white tint. They glistened upon both sunlight and moonlight. Sometimes they almost felt like they glowed. Seff could always feel something within them but didn't know what it was. They thought it could be their mintha still holding on to this realm, a ghost of her former consciousness.
Seff tells Akhmin there wasn't anything they needed really. Maybe a couple of rations that they also packed in a wicker shoulder bag. It was filled to the brim with extra prisma jerky they kept from about 3 days ago, a large loaf of poff bread, and two large light wooden canisters that held 2 liters in total of vela juice and plain cylanta tea. Seff wanted to keep them seperate so that they'd have variety. Akhmin patted Seff on the back, happily proud of their work. "Just like I taught you."
Akhmin puts Alex over his shoulder still rolled up. As the sun is in acute angle toward its destination beyond the horizon, The group sets off toward the commune grounds, the village.
