The bus driver actually directed her to the front of the bus. This initially worried Sahara because usually the kids who get in trouble are placed there. Her initial worry was shattered when she saw the kids she would be mentoring. Unlike the other kids who wore typical clothing, the kid she was in front of was clearly wearing custom-made attire. Not only that, but it actually had the style of a noble from Ark, the Homeworld of the Ark dragon. What is unique about them is that they had fluffy fur, but this fur was made out of actual clouds. The shirt was actually a special kind of turtle neck designed for very specific nobles, specifically draconic princes. The kids standing before her had blonde hair, ice blue eyes, and salamander-like horns. A devil-like tail and bat-like wings. The most striking part of his appearance, though, was his freckles, which were actually three scales on each side of his face. She instantly realized that she was likely assigned this individual not because they were a troublemaker, but because they were an important noble whose family likely had a lot of influence. Then the kid began to speak in a thick Swedish accent.
"Hello, my name is Timmy! It's nice to meet you, Miss Sahara. Please take a seat!" Timmy said politely.
Sahara sat right down next to him. Something she noted is that despite having a similar energetic tone to Lea, he was significantly less annoying. In fact, she found his mix of energy and politeness to be very endearing. They began driving to their destination, the city hall.
"I have heard you are taking the hero assessment! Have you thought about what heroes you're going to bring into your team, or if you're going to join a team yet? I'm just really curious." Timmy said.
"I'm pretty ready for the assessment. It's a lot of work, and if you put a lot of work in, you can take the assessment in the future. As for teams, I do want to try to find the very best people. I think I'll make my own, but I'm not entirely sure who I want to include. To see their capabilities to decide on who you want on your team, possibly in the future, though a large part of it's not working, which I'm not really good at." Sahara said.
"Miss Sahara, I apologize if this comes off as rude, but I have already taken the assessment. I have my license. I was asking because I kind of want to join your team if you pass the assessment. This is because of my age; it's really hard to find people who want me on their team. My older sister is also very strict on what she views as being a capable team. I thought that, because you seem like a really strong contender, I could convince her that you're a good option." Timmy said
"Wait, what? That would mean you would have to be one of the youngest people to have ever gotten their hero license!" Sahara said in shock.
"I sort of am. Technically, I am the second youngest because Nikki was way younger than I was when she got her license. She is also even now younger than me, which is probably why you haven't heard of me. It also doesn't help that one of my sisters is Ashionna and the other is Astrid. Which intimidates a lot of people." Timmy said.
"Now I understand why you could not find a team despite being so accomplished for your age. Your Prince Timmy Everwinter. I also apologize for not addressing you properly!" Sahara said.
"I don't really care for titles, and also it's Blood Prince, I'm not actually part of the line of succession, nor is Ashionna. Ark collapsed anyway internally, so my title doesn't really mean much. I don't understand, it's not fair, why are people so afraid of me!" Timmy said, beginning to cry.
"One of your sisters is still a recognized reincarnation of an Ark dragon. Not only that, but the strongest one! Even though I don't worship the Ark dragons, I do recognize why people avoid you. It's not your fault; in fact, they're trying to avoid being malicious by doing so. You might be too young to realize this, but people worship one of your half sisters as a literal God. Astrid is commonly viewed as the highest of the Ark dragons. That is why they're scared of joining your team, because any offense towards you could be seen as offending the highest and most powerful goddess across the realms. They see you as the literal brother of God. It's the same reason they also fear Asionna. I mean, they also fear her for other stuff. I will say this: I would love to have you on my team, but I don't think I can convince your older sister to let you join." Sahara said.
Timmy was still sobbing. Sahara gently comforted him the rest of the way to City Hall.
