Everyone began splitting off with their respective assigned companions. Sahara decided to take her time, though, for Timmy's sake, helping him down the stairs slowly. They entered a main circular Hall that acted as the reception room to City Hall, which was also an active police station manned by Radon. This is because City Hall was actually built by CROWN and was actually their CROWN location and the heart of Radon. In fact, the top of the tower had a hologram of a tiara, which was often used as the corporate symbol of the hero organization. Sarah noted it felt weird that radon ran City Hall for a variety of reasons, the least of which was that they were not the only hero organization and agency in Platinum City. The reason they could have for letting radon have so much control of the building was that the building held the hero museum for the city, which is why they were visiting City Hall in the first place. They needed to approach the front desk to get their Museum badges, which would let them into the museum of the building. Most of City Hall was actually restricted, forcing people to scan their ID cards and badges to gain restricted access to areas. This actually included the museum, as you needed to pay for a pass, and after you were done with your visit, you were required to give it back to the receptionist, who would throw it into a fire. Sahara thought it was weird how strict the security was for what was meant to be just City Hall.
"We're with Platinum High School, our names are Sahara Hao and Timmy Everwinter, and we should be on the badge list," Sahara said to the receptionist. Well, doing this, she noticed how nervous Timmy was and decided to hold his hand. Sahara couldn't put her finger on it, but she understood why Timmy was scared. There was this feeling of ominous unease in the room; it felt so Hollow and empty despite the other students chattering. Something just felt severely off to the point that both of them could feel it. The room also felt ridiculously cold, which was odd because the furnace was literally behind the front desk that they used to incinerate notes. The fire in that furnace was created by the Sage of Scorching Yi-chen. Who is the literal master of fire magic whose flames never go out, so it was weird that the room felt cold when his flames were known for being eternally hot. The receptionist walked away to create their badges. Something caught Sahara's eye, which was the massive metal R above the furnace representing Radon.
"Here are your badges." A stern voice said.
This was not the voice of the recessionist that Sahara spoke with earlier; she looked back down and realized the person speaking to her was Paige, the director of Radon. Paige was the former police chief of Platinum City. Her blonde hair and blue eyes complemented her police uniform quite well, but there was something very eerie about her, as if lightning literally crackled as she spoke. Sahara, I noticed something quite interesting on her police badge: a yellow crystal.
"Thank you!" Sahara immediately grabbed the badges.
"Timmy, we don't want to miss out on the new exhibition on relics!" Sahara said, clearly stammering. Timmy picked up on her unease and immediately went along with her to the door, punching in their badges to go into the museum. As they walked into the main floor of the museum, they saw massive collections of hero vehicles, which made up the first exhibit. Sahara even noticed that they actually had a miniature model of a Blue Jay, which was a bird-like jet designed by her mother's family. She almost laughed at the size of the model because of how small it was in comparison to the real deal, which were massive, almost city-sized spaceships. Sahara, though, decided to remain focused, and she obtained a new goal, figuring out what kind of gemstone Paige was wearing because there was something clearly off about it.
