A few days after our return from the Azure Garden of Records, Rabbichu began to change.
“Kyu…”
He slept more often, and at times, faint motes of light drifted from his winged ears.
It was as if something within him had begun to stir.
That night, I dreamed.
In the darkness, a girl stood.
“…Will you call this child’s name once more?”
White hair, translucent eyes. In her arms, a small wing-eared creature. Rabbichu.
She smiled quietly, sadly.
“The forgotten need someone who will give them a name again.”
The next day, Sarius spoke in a hushed tone.
“The Path of Stars has begun to move in earnest. To bestow a True Name requires more than records. The one who names must face a trial—and understand the core of that being.”
“…Where?”
“The Cave of the Star Mirror. A place where every soul’s record can be reflected… sealed away with a forbidden mirror.”
But before that journey, there were friends I needed to see.
“Kanon!”
“You’re safe!”
It was Dill and Neel. Our reunion was warm and immediate.
When I told them about the Star Fragments and Rabbichu’s changes, they answered without hesitation:
“We’re coming too. If you’re about to decide something important, we want to be there!”
“And besides… Rabbichu’s gotten seriously strong, right?”
Rabbichu shook his wing-ears, almost bashful, and chirped, “Kyu.”
And so, our party was set.
The Cave of the Star Mirror.
It lay within a cliffside, shrouded in mist. Guarding the entrance was a beast forged long ago by the starmages.
[Mirror Guardian – Lv ??]
“To enter, it will demand proof of your soul’s path. In other words… combat.”
The moment Sarius spoke, the beast roared.
“Come, Rabbichu!”
“KyuUUU!”
Rabbichu leapt. His ears spread wide, unleashing a torrent of light—
an evolved form of Wing Burst: Stellar Wing Torrent.
But it wasn’t enough. One final strike wouldn’t go through.
At that moment, Dill shouted:
“Kanon! Speak your feelings—give them voice!”
I met Rabbichu’s eyes and cried out:
“—Your name is… Arnea!”
In that instant, his body blazed with radiant light.
The True Name had resounded.
The Mirror Guardian froze, then lowered its head.
“…Pass. You who have given a name.”
Beyond the guardian lay the mirror.
Rabbichu—no, Arnea—stepped before it. The moment he saw his reflection, the mirror shattered silently.
“My name… has been restored.
For you, I can fight again.”
The voice was no longer just “Kyu”—it was something closer to words.
And so, a being with a True Name reappeared in this world.
But this was only the beginning.
Rabbichu—no, Arnea—now bore the weight of a name that could shake the world’s balance.
A boy carrying a forbidden name, and his partner, the vessel of his feelings.
Together, they had begun walking the Path of Stars.
