Chapter 2
Johnathan, Albert, and Naamah walked into the gym on the night of the dance. Albert kept looking at Naamah weirdly, almost afraid.
Johnathan bumped him on the shoulder, “Don’t worry, you’ll do great.”
Albert smiled, obviously he knew what Johnathan was talking about, but it was good to make the illusion of it being different. “Thanks Johnathan.”
They all walked into the gym to find the dance well underway, food, dancing, the norm.
Naamah turned to Albert, “Want to dance? I have to take care of something first, but after?”
Albert winced slightly, then nodded. “Ya of course.”
Naamah looked to Johnathan, “What are you gonna do?”
Johnathan shrugged, “Probably gonna go over the food, never got to last time.”
Naamah nodded, “See you later then.” Johnathan could have sworn a small evil-looking smile perked up on Naamah’s face.
Johnathan nodded, “Later.” He went over to the food table, then he used a new spell called All seeing eye to watch as Naamah went over to talk to her friends. Johnathan turned around and nodded at Albert, who nodded back. Then used his speed to run through the crowd into his position. Johnathan grabbed a scone, then waited for the mind tempting thing to settle in.
Johnathan waited and waited, then a small twitch came to him. His body started moving on its own, and his legs started running through the halls. Eventually he stopped in a large hallway, he’d been there before, it was the office hallways. Albert appeared next to him.
“How long can you resist it?” He asked.
Johnathan shook his head, “Not long.” Johnathan said grunting, “I think something else is going on, remember that lesson in illusion class? The one about haw anyone can be perceived at anyone?” Albert nodded, seeming to understand, “Alright, go invisible again. Make sure the perimeter is secure.”
Albert nodded and went invisible, Johnathan let the feeling take over him once more. His body weaved through the halls, and eventually he was in the Master Knight’s office. He looked around for the spy.
“You can come out now, I know who you are! And I know what you can do.” Johnathan yelled.
A figure appeared from the shadows, “It’s good to see you Johnathan.”
Johnathan shrugged, “The feelings aren’t mutual.” Johnathan created a small spell in his hand, waiting for the spy to show themselves.
“Well I know you know who I am.” The spy took off their hood and made a face of Naamah, “I’m sorry I have to do this, but it is the only way for balance.” Johnathan did freeze, but tried to stay strong.
“Well I’m sorry I have to do this ‘Naamah’” Johnathan cast his spell, and transformed into Naamah himself. “I knew it!” He looked over himself, he definitely looked like a demon. He felt like a normal human though. “Now!”
A large glass dome formed around Naamah in front of him. “What is this!” Said the voice.
Johnathan smiled as Albert reappeared next to him, “I always thought it would be weird if Naamah were to try and kill me, I thought Sebastian was going to. I was wrong, and right about both.” Johnathan stepped closer to the now trapped spy, “You're an illusion, aren’t you?”
The spy smiled, but before they said anything Albert cast a dispel illusion spell on them. Their entire body changed into what everyone would have seen as an old man, maybe a teacher.
“An illusion, yes. But I am still a threat.” They said in a new deep voice.
Johnathan nodded, “You know I kept thinking, if the spy was Naamah, then why didn’t she just kill me? My first thought was because Albert was there. Then I thought more.”
Albert nodded, “Naamah wouldn’t kill in front of me, and she already had a whole bunch of chances to kill Johnathan. So why wasn’t he dead?”
Johnathan nodded, “Because there were always two of them, both friends at times. But also, one wanting to kill. You made up Sebastian so you could try and kill me, but the ‘Friends’ you made to try and hide your identity kept getting in your way. Your friend will divide you. That line wasn’t meant for me it was meant for you, your friends divided you from your mission. Including me. Albert was the next friend, Then another will have your back. Your friends kept you along when you didn’t want to be, but Albert kept me with him and had my back. I shall fight the spy, Albert did. The prophecy wasn’t meant for just me, but for all of us.”
The Spy laughed, “What a smart young boy, but destiny is a harsh teacher. You will die with the Chaos.”
Johnathan shook his head, “No my friend, Chaos is forever.”
