Chapter 3

Now I know what in the world just happened. Let me explain it to you, me and Albert were talking and we realized that there were spells that could disguise yourself. So we put in a plan for that, just in case. Turns out, it made a lot of sense in the endgame. We told the Master Knight what we did afterwards and handed over the spy, he said they would be sent to NEXUS immediately. Making me a bit scared, having to work there in one year. But it didn’t matter at the time, we just sat back and watched as things were taken care of. We regrouped with Naamah, and Albert apologized for ruining another dance. Then I took the blame of course. She waved it off and congratulated them on not being killed in the process of their plan. They thanked her and Johnathan went to go see the spies' final days, and NEXUS bringing them away. NEXUS thanked Johnathan and Albert for their work and what they had done to apprehend the growing threat of the Controllers, and that Johnathan was going to have a much bigger job then he was expecting. Didn’t know what they meant but decided not to think about it for now.

“So,” Naamah said, “What’d I miss?”

Johnathan shrugged, “Not much, evil version of you, shapeshifting, I became you once, villain being caught in a glass cage, then us just waiting.”

She looked at him, “Wait, you became me?”

Albert shook his head, “Don’t ask.”

She nodded again, “So, you guys ready for our destinies?”

Johnathan nodded, “Working at NEXUS is going to be cool, even if I have one more year to go.”

“Actually, you may not.” Said a tall figure from behind them. They turned to see the Master Knight looking down at them, “I have decided, even after all that has happened, you are qualified to go and do what you must do. Mr. Duncan, Naamah may start working here as teachers. You may go to NEXUS early, and they have promised you'd be given more than you asked for. I wish you good luck Johnathan, for your story is only beginning.” The Master Knight walked off, and started talking with a smaller student. Maybe second year.

Johnathan turned to his friends, “I’m going to be working at NEXUS!”

HIs friends cheered for him, then they all cheered for their teaching jobs. They were all, finally going to where they were meant to be. One thing nagged at Johnathan’s mind, where else could his story go? What was the Master Knight talking about? He looked to the endless black void and nodded, probably somewhere good.

It took a few days, but Johnathan was finally back home. Naamah, Albert and him all said their goodbyes. Even though Johnathan could just always see Albert whenever. Then they left the MDSC. Johnathan looked at all his comics and posters, that’s what he was going to be. A knock came at his door.

“Johnathan! A man from the MDSC is here to see you!” Johnathan’s mom yelled.

Johnathan got up surprised, “He can come in!”

The door opened and a tall man in a suit entered the room, he smiled at Johnathan. “Hello Johnathan, my name is John Taylor. I am one of the people who work at NEXUS.”

Johnathan shot up and used his Telekinesis spell to close the door, “What in the world are you doing here!? I’m not supposed to be…”

“Kid, I’m here to tell you where you're going to be in NEXUS.” Said John.

Johnathan squinted his eyes, then sat down. “What do you mean?”

“NEXUS is putting together a team, one for supernatural individuals. We will be called The NEXUS. The Master Knight has chosen you as one of these members, as well as I.”

Johnathan sat back down, “So what can you do then?”

John grabbed a metal paper weight and it melted into his hand, “I can do many things.” He put it back down and it went back into its original shape, “What I’m here to figure out, is what you can do.”

Johnathan smiled, “You got a notebook on you? This might take a while.”
