Something Unique : “The Greatest Love (A Poem in Prose)”

Something Unique : “The Greatest Love (A Poem in Prose)”

Sep 14, 2025

This is not a poem; rather, I would describe it as a

 short commentary reflecting my opinion.

The greatest love is not the love we receive

from a partner, friend, family member, or acquaintance,

nor is it the love from strangers we encounter on the street.

The greatest love comes from within ourselves—

our care and respect for ourselves, our bodies,

our opinions, our virtues, and our intelligence.

This is the greatest love.

As we walk along the roads of life, people may stare.

We may sing in the orchestra of situations and relationships,

and still, people will look on. But this is simply what humans do.

We are Homo sapiens,

a species that has dominated this Earth for three hundred thousand years.

Over decades of history, we have made countless mistakes,

But we have also achieved great things.

Judgment is a part of life,

a subconscious process that influences our interactions with the physical world.

It is a missing puzzle piece that fits into the complex web of mystery and attachment.

Not all judgment is good, but not all judgment is bad.

 Yet it is true…

The judgment of others, although devastatingly destructive in some situations,

is a fundamental aspect that has helped us cope and survive dangerous and toxic environments.

 However,

the most important thing is how we express this judgment.

Everyone's judgment is unique and is based on various layers of experiences and encounters,

much like an artist blessing their canvas with paints and splashes of colour.

Today,

I close the curtain on this topic and shift our focus to a discussion of the greatest love.

I believe that the greatest love we can ever attain

is not the fairy tale love from a prince charming or princess charming,

but rather the love we cultivate within ourselves.

This love encompasses:

Self-respect

 Self-value

 Principles

 Virtue

 Morals

Customs and culture...

To say these are the only aspects would be a lie,

but these are what I believe to be the most important.

You and I are not dictated by society or anyone else’s expectations.

We are not puppets in someone else’s game;

we are neither background characters nor antagonists in the stories of others.

We are beautifully and fantastically unique, separate entities with different beliefs,

and that is what makes us—and the world we live in—beautiful.

 There is a saying:

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

You are the beholder of your own beauty.

You are a beauty undefined by the world—a diamond in the rough,

a treasure with a mind of unpolished jewels and a mindset of remarkable intelligence.

Whether or not you fit the standards of beauty,

you are a beautiful human being with the potential for good and kindness.

So, look at yourself or think about it.

The greatest love is not the love from a friend or lover but the love you give to yourself.

It is not selfishness or arrogance to place value on yourself;

 it is love.

Do what makes you happy and live a life that doesn’t make you sad.

Make accomplishments not because you are doing it for someone else,

but because you are doing it for yourself—

for your future self and the past version of you who is now gone.

The first step to success is admitting what makes you sad or insecure.

Don’t be silenced by those who don’t want to listen or by those who are afraid of this truth.

Confront it.

Don’t let insecurity cloud your judgment or gaslight you into believing you are worthless,

ugly, inferior to others, or unworthy of love... because you are not.

You are your own person.

An individual, loved and protected by your own will and spirit.

Forged in the flames of Hell and brought back as a new and accomplished human being.

You are dictated by your own rules, not the rules of others.

You have the power to control how you see yourself and what you do.

So be kind to yourself.

Consider who is with you—do they care for you?

 Do they lift you up?

If not, be brave and distance yourself from them.

Those who cannot see your worth are unworthy of your presence.

Don’t cry over a person who never cared for you or left you because they fell for someone else.

Take that rage, grief, pain, and bundle of emotions, and forge it into a new path.

If you have to cut through uncharted waters, do it.

If you have to run through a desolate landscape, run, because you know one truth:

you love and care for yourself, both mentally and physically.

Beauty can sometimes come with pain,

but it is for a purpose; relentlessly, you will survive. It’s deep in our bones.

When everything seems lost, you avenge defeat.

So, this may be the end of my story,

but it is the beginning of yours.

You are the artist of your own life and opportunities.

See the beauty before the beast.

Welcome to Madam President Writes
This is my little online playground for short stories, poems, and random thoughts about life. Some pieces are silly, some are serious, and some are just here to make you smile or think for a moment.
I like mixing things up - a dash of humour, a pinch of mystery, and the occasional twist you didn't see coming. You never know if the next post will make you laugh, give you goosebumps, or leave you daydreaming.
Grab a cup of coffee, get comfy, and have a wander. The words are waiting.
