After finishing his work for today, Ywain gathers all his unsold merchandise off his stall. The elf decides to help him to move the trinkets to a carriage pulled by a donkey. Shortly after tidying up everything, Ywain starts to pull the donkey near an inn, only one or two minutes away from the very centre of the city, so it is still really close to it. Symone is still following the faun, the elf is looking everywhere around him really curiously, by the way he almost loses Ywain’s track more than once. The elf also sees the magnificent bright white royal castle, it is the nameless king's main habitation.
The king is called "the nameless king" because he never revealed his name or his face, by the way he never left the castle since he started his reign a long time ago. Maybe he doesn't want to reveal who he really is to avoid being an easy target for his opponents. No one really knows why he is staying so mysterious in this way.
Symone and Ywain finally arrive in front of the inn they have been walking to, the donkey and the merchandise are left outside. The very few precious items are indeed covered by a piece of fabric so no one can see it and can possibly be tempted to steal it.
As Symone enters the inn, he discovers a warm place, mainly made of wood, beams and blocks of rock to solidify the walls. There are also a lot of people and a fantastic food smell as well. Ywain shows Symone where to sit, the latter goes and sits by himself while the faun is talking to a woman who's behind a bar at the opposite of where Symone is waiting.
After not even a few seconds of Symone being left alone, a rich looking elf approaches. By the way, the capital is full of rich elves, they are the only authorised to live freely in this city. The king doesn't really like other creatures despite some, in a really small number, living in the capital. So when the elf arrives in front of Symone’s table, he says with a bit of hatred just because Symone looks different :
-"Well... What are you ? A lizard ? Why did you come here ? No more places outside of the walls ?" This mean elf is referencing a place right outside of the capital where mostly peasants, farmers and any other poor creatures miserably live.
Right when Symone is about to give serious answers to those questions, thinking the person in front of him is genuinely curious, another person approaches. This time they don't really seem to be an elf, not because of what this person looks since they are all covered in clothes from head to toe, hiding every parcel of their skin. They don't seem to be an elf because they are way smaller than the one bothering Symone. Of course elves are smaller when they are younger but why would a kid be in an inn at this time of the day ? The person dressed in black just doesn't give an ‘elf vibe’. Anyways, they talk, trying to defend the green one :
-"Let this person alone or you'll never come back to this place, alright ?"
The one bothering Symone just nods quickly and goes away as fast as he can. As if he is really scared of that mysterious person. Indeed the mysterious one seems to be really confident despite them almost whispering the sentence they just said. Symone looks up to take a look at the mysterious person who just spoke. The elf doesn't know who's hiding behind the pieces of fabric but he is grateful yet confused for what they just did for him. So Symone politely talks :
-“Thank you. Why don’t you sit with me ?” The half-elf happily asks that question. He is indeed really happy to meet new people since he never did in his life before.
-“I’m sorry, I won’t sit with you, I can’t for now.” The one covered in black fabric from head to toes politely and kindly declines the offer.
After that, they simply walk away to reach some shelves, they reorder it while taking, from time to time, a quick look at Symone. It is indeed a bit weird. While the interaction between Symone and the mysterious one happened, Ywain booked rooms and some food for both of him and the half-elf.
The faun and the green elf are now both sitting at the table, regaining strength with a typical dish from the capital. Some slices of cooked salmon with a sweet honey sauce accompanied with some vegetables. A really tasty dish. Almost all of the typical dishes of the capital are made of fish or sea food and even edible algae. It is the case because Ahulia, the capital, is really close to the sea, in fact it is situated at the really North West of the kingdom.
It takes them a few minutes to finish their meal, Ywain curiously ask more about Symone's wish for travelling :
-"By the way, what do you want to do in Golden Hook again ?" He asks that question pretty quietly, as if the faun didn’t want to attract everyone's attention in this inn.
Symone expresses himself, excited, impatient and joyful :
-"As I said earlier, I want to go to Golden Hook to become a pirate and to go on adventures !"
He says it with a bit too much enthusiasm and a bit too loud, almost everyone in the inn is now looking at the green elf but the mean stares don't last that long. It shows and proves that being a pirate isn't that cool and well seen among the capital's citizens. Of course they are not well seen, they are pirates, they steal from the rich and this city is full of rich people who are scared about losing their useless superflux of money !
After a short time, the mysterious person all covered in black clothes approaches again. They sit right next to the half-elf at the two new friends' table without hesitation and without asking for their authorization. The one covered in black clothes discreetly talks while being really close to Symone so no one around can hear, as if they wanted to hide something from the rest of the inn :
-"Excuse me, you were talking about going to Golden Hook, right ?"
Ywain shakes his head to say 'yes' while his eyebrows are tilted, wondering why the one who just decided to sit with them. The faun is also ready to react in case this weird and mysterious person would attack them for wanting to go to a pirate city, which would be a pretty common thing to do since, as said before, the rich elves don't like the poor and lousy pirates. Seeing this positive nod and taking it as the two’s final answer, the one dressed in black keeps talking, not waiting for Symone's answer :
-"Can I come with you ?... Please." As if they're begging Symone and Ywain to help them escape the capital.
Before Ywain can give his personal answer on what was just asked, by the way he is about to give a negative answer, Symone exclaims of joy :
-“Of course you can join us on our upcoming adventure !” The half-elf draws a huge smile on his face, happy to have one more friend to go on adventure with.
But the faun quickly reacts, he gives his answer :
-“Symone, no ! We don’t know this person ! They might be someone bad…” Ywain says the last sentence almost whispering to the half-elf, trying to not negatively change the feelings of the one all dressed in black.
A short conversation starts between the two new friends, completely ignoring the third one sitting on the same table as them. The half-elf doesn’t want to let the mysterious person by themselves, so he keeps talking :
-“Come on Ywain, I’m sure this is a good person ! Earlier they helped me get rid of someone bothering me. Please let them come with us.”
So after those few minutes trying to convince the small faun, Symone finally ‘wins’ this ‘debate’. Ywain finally accepts letting the mysterious one go with them.
