Magical Girls & Werewolves

War and Destruction

War and Destruction

Sep 15, 2025

This is not an apocalyptic story, nor even one about thwarting the apocalypse.

This is a story about taking a different path.

Visea Teue watched as yet another nation burned, the sky black with smoke. She and her father had known that this was inevitable; it was the End of an Age. Even so, this was somewhat excessive.

At this rate there won't be any survivors... She thought just as the soot clouds lit on fire.

“You were right.” Her father finally said, sighing, “The problem was bigger than I thought it was.”

“I did try to warn you that they have their hands in everything.” She pointed out.

“Yeah, but the governments and militaries too?" He said incredulously, then turned to look at his small, dark child, "They shouldn't have had the power to start yet another World War. Or at the very least had the sense to not drop bombs of that size and magnitude anywhere, let alone everywhere.”

“It's the end of an Age inside a fragment of time and space." Visea Teue reminded her father, "There are a limited number of options available to bring about the end.”

“Sometimes I really hate this planet's natural cycles...” He muttered, turning his eyes back to the inferno.

“This isn't natural to this planet, Father. Renewal through death, yes, is a natural part of it's cycles... But this level of destruction leaves no room for life to renew itself. It's just destruction for it's own sake.”

“...No wonder others keep trying to thump them.” He said after a moment, then added, “How bad is this going to get Visea?”

“Bad. The planet will be permanently uninhabitable from this war. The wrong people managed to get off of the planet and they'll just spread this violence to the next one, then next and the next and the next and so on, wrecking havoc and destroying worlds everywhere they go and never learning, always thinking that everyone else is the villain, or the problem. It will be an endless cycle until they are either killed, genetically changed, or they are the only ones left. If the last one occurs than they will simply turn on each other until there is nothing and no one. Case and point...” She finished with a wave of her hand at the burning nation.

“This is their nature...?” He muttered, horrified.

“As they are? Yes. However, it's... Correctable. But they are not salvageable as they are. A lot of work will be required, to the point where they may not be the same species by the end of it.”

“Good riddance.” He muttered, disgusted.

Visea Teue was made when her people realized that they were in a fragment of time and space that was exactly that; a fragment of something that was once much larger. In order to try and fix this they made a child with a special kind of power over healing, knowledge, water and time. Bringing this about took a few tries. Her father had been a previous attempt and his power seemed focused on war, protection, prosperity and love. When a being ostensibly meant for war is disgusted by a species' level of violence it usually means that things are so excessively bad that it may be necessary to just wipe them all out... Before they harm anyone else. However, before such drastic measures would be taken, her father generally let her try and resolve things first.

With a thought Visea Teue made it rain. It started as a few droplets, but the fire's intensity prevented the water from reaching anywhere, so she cooled it further and brought down so much of it that it was impossible to see more than a couple of metres ahead. This rapidly spread to encompass the entire planet in a rainfall that might likely be their only salvation. Across the globe her power touched everything, soaking it and everywhere the rain reached Visea knew it's – or 'their' – objective history. All of it.

Her father filtered the information that reached her through the rain to spare her the trauma.

Ah. I see, She thought, I need to rearrange where people are.

The Universe blinked as her power unfurled and events began rearranging through time.

Once upon a time there were Magical Girls-
Ah, wait, no.
This story doesn't have a candy wrapper disguise. Let's try that again.

There are things in the Universe that are inimical and malign; they will destroy all that is around them... And then there those who will stand up to stop these forces and people. On a world drowning in a darkness that they convince themselves is just shadows, a war occurred that ended all life on it's surface. Trying to save the planet and it's inhabitants, a goddess rearranges events in time to give them another chance to save themselves.
Gwen Lovelace had lived a life that hadn't been worth it in the end and now just wanted to raise her daughter in a quiet, rural town. Then the 'Hunters' found them. Ruthless, violent and without mercy they are relentless in their pursuit, driving others to extinction. With little other choice she is forced to run, but an event rearranging goddess guides her path, leading her back to the fight and back to leadership where she belongs.
The darkness has almost lost.
The light has almost won, on this, a world in darkness.
Welcome to a world of Magical Girls, Werewolves, living nightmares, the occasional Dragon... And a surprising number of aliens.
Welcome, to Earth.
