They looked at Maya's statue, trying to figure out what the gem she was wearing was.
"I kind of wish we already knew what these gemstones were," Sahara yelled in frustration.
As they looked up at the stained glass window, a nose caught their attention. A helicopter in Basil's shattered window, they were able to see that the helicopter was branded with the letter N. Before they knew it, Maya's window above them shattered. Sahara ran to shield Timmy from the glass. Luckily, the glass missed them both. Standing in the window frame was someone in a jester's outfit. It was a purple indigo. The costume had bright pink and blue accents. The figure on the window frame was wearing a Venetian carnival mask. There was an indigo orb that sat on a bow around the person's neck. It began glowing like a black light as a clear view left from both of the shattered window panes showed something interesting. The sky was beginning to become black like night.
"What do we have here! Timmy Timmy Timmy! I cannot believe that you cannot remember what the Crowns are! If you did remember, you would have told her. Haaa Hahhhaa," The mysterious stranger said.
"Who are you! Why did you break into the museum?" Sahara yelled.
"Well, you would like to know,w Sahara Hao. I am doing my duty as a holder of one of the Crowns. I cannot break into a building that I have authority over. The name you're allowed to know is Masquerade, the director of Nightshade. You may know it as the United Kingdom's branch of the hero organization CROWN. It seems, despite my name, you're the one stuck in a masquerade. It's now time to end this twisted charade. Each Crown has a duty to uphold, or at least from what I've been told. I, the Lord of the light, owner of the indigo pearl, will eclipse your will to fight. I reveal the truth like a black light, consuming all that is hidden in the night. The duty of each holder, the burden we have to shoulder, is to be a soldier. Against the very Gods themselves. Therefore, that is where my duty dwells. To hunt, Astrid is my goal, and therefore, to take complete control. She abuses her power greatly and vastly to create a cycle that lasts forever. It would be impossible to take her down on my own, but I understand if there's a way she could be dethroned. If one she holds dear is struggling with such great fear, then no choice will she have but to come here. Honestly, I can't keep up the rhyming stick anymore. It's kind of stupid. I don't know why we try to do this anyway. I'm going to take Timmy and my custody to force Astrid to show her hand. You could say to get her under my command. Paige should have kidnapped him forever ago, but that goody two-shoes is as useless as your mother was, Sahara." Masquerade said, taking up so much time that it allowed Timmy to get out his training staff.
"So you're telling me my mother was a part of your sick, demented group! Even if most of what Astrid has done is awful, it does not let you take out her actions on her family! Also, what do you mean by an eternal cycle?" Sahara yelled, putting herself between Masquerade and Timmy.
"Your father was two! He was way more respectable than Maya. For the Crown of wind, she is a suck up... I should probably not swear in front of you children! Sahara, do you want to make your dada proud? I think he would be if you handed the brat over." Masquerade said.
"I would never sell out another hero!" Sahara yelled.
"Two things about that: you do not have a hero license, so you cannot fight me. You're numbered three to two." Masquerade jeered.
"What are you talking about. Does the backup look like it is in the room with us!" Sahara mockingly said back.
"Not yet!" Masquerade said in the tone of a smile. One that was gruesome and disturbed.
The window depicts the heroes Angelo and Jay were mashed in. The knights stood before them. One with armor white as snow and the other with armor black as coal. Each one had a single wing coming out of its back. Their armour sounded quite heavy as their suits seemed to make clanking noises as they moved. Their armor was shockingly sleek. Their arms were unique, like they were blasters. Sahara and Timmy started to go back towards the door as they thought that escape might be their only option. Then one of the knights used his wing to propel himself so fast. He got to the door before slamming it shut. Everything began to feel hopeless as Sahara didn't know what to do.
