In the aftermath of the fight Etsuiku stood panting as the adrenaline began to wear off, the baton at the ready for if that thing moved again. Then the bell rang for school to let out, startling all three.
They hadn't been fighting for that long.
Had they?
No, wait; that was the fire alarm.
Jiro came over to her, held his hands out where she could see them on her peripheral, then slowly reached across her, placed his hand on her shoulder and then placed his other hand on her arm nearest to his body. With steady strength he slowly pushed her arms down.
“It's dead.” He said gently.
Having panicked the first time that he had to face one of those things, Jiro was actually impressed that she had kept it together during the fight. He was now waiting for her to have the traditional melt-down that everyone does after encountering a Vos for the first time.
So far, it wasn't coming.
Strange. He thought.
Etsu cooperated as he and Asahana moved her back until she was in the shade of an evergreen and sitting between 2 of it's roots. Etsu leaned gratefully against it's bole, shaky as Asahana followed Jiro's instructions to retrieve his backpack.
Once in hand he pulled out the First Aid kit and was a bit surprised when Asahana took it, immediately getting to work, but he didn't argue. Instead he turned his attention to keeping a look out for any Vos that might come to investigate. The other one was a corpse and more tend show up when one of them dies, often swarming over the threat.
Asahana silently put on blue gloves and began quickly cleaning Etsu's wound with alcohol wipes like she knew that a threat was coming. Etsuiku winced and tried to find the words to speak.
Say something! She told herself, They must be terrified!
Ignoring the throb of a sterile pad being pressed onto her arm she asked them, “What are your names?”
“Hoshino Asahana.” The girl answered absent-mindedly as she began bandaging Etsu's arm with quick efficiency.
“Jiro Tanaka.” The boy answered, distracted, then switched languages without realizing it, “Hoshino-san, you said your name in the wrong order.”
“Sorry.” Asahana said, tucking the bandages, then grabbing the tensor bandage and wrapping it rapidly over the injury sight as she spoke, “It's, stress. Uhm...” She indicated herself, gave a brief bow, then pinned the tensor in place, “Asahana Hoshino.”
“Oh, that's a pretty name...” Etsuiku started before the blackness swallowed her to startled cries as her suit switched back to her regular clothes.
Asahana had managed to get 1 of the pins on the tensor, so the injury stayed wrapped.
