Back on the Leviathan, the Star Riders try not make any rash decisions given the Crimson Storms reputation. Luckily for them, these space pirates have no intention of harming them. After all, they both share a common enemy.
“Calm down you six. We have no reason to hold you hostage. Besides, right now we have bigger fish to fry. Feel free to stay for a while. We have plenty of resources to spare.” Says Garris in an act of generosity.
“Thanks mister. Glad to know we’re not the only ones Ragnarök has beef with.” Lucian says having calmed down a bit.
“By the way, the names Garris. Thought you should know that.” Says Garris.
The Star Riders were about to introduce themselves only to find out that the Crismon Storm already know who they are. Turns out, most of the crew are big fans of mech battles. With introductions out of the way, Lucian decides to repair Fenrir, Valkyrie, and Jotun. The damage might not be too severe but one can never be too careful. Meanwhile, Garon heads for the simulations in hopes of improving their skill. Ava decides to do some investigative work. She heads for the data com in research room in hopes of learning more about Ragnarök.
From her research, Ava makes a few discoveries about Ragnarök. Ragnarök has its origins on Earth. Sometime in the forty-three hundreds, Ragnarök tried to convince the human population that humans were once a great race and blamed what they saw as invaders for mankind’s current state. Luckily, it seemed that mankind caught on to the group’s true intentions and casted them out of Earth. But Ragnarök did not go away so easily. They went into hiding and continued with their human supremacist ways. Ava continued reading and found what their goal was. Ragnarök intends to start a war between the Republic and the Federation. From there, Ragnarök would rule the galaxy once the two major powers were gone. To make things even worse, the current President of Earth is sympathetic to Ragnarök. With this knowledge, Ava goes to tell the rest of the Team. Luckily, Lucian had just finished the repairs and Garon was taking a breather from the training. Upon telling them about her discover, Lucian and Garon immediately realize just how bad Ragnarök truly was.
“I knew these guys were assholes, but to think they would go this far is borderline vile.” Garon says with disgust in their voice.
“At the very least, we know that they are using the tournaments as a distraction from their true goal. If we expose their intentions to the public, that’ll force the galaxy at large to put their grievances aside to focus on a shared enemy.” Says Ava optimistically.
“One thing’s for certain; it’s up to us take down this group of authoritarians. For everyone’s sake.” Lucian says with determination in his voice.
Meanwhile at Ragnarök’s base of operations, Ragnar sits inside the driver’s seat of Fury while its being repaired. Still furious at Fury’s malfunction earlier, Ragnar makes sure to remind Fury of its purpose.
“Listen here you piece of scrap metal. We are going to find that metal mutt and rip the adaptus program out of it. You fail to obey my orders and I won’t think twice about destroying you myself.” Says Ragnar as he slams his fists onto the control panel.
Suddenly, a hole appears on the control panel. Ragnar had never seen this feature on Fury before and inspects the hole. Just as Ragnar stares into the hole, a metal tendril pieces Ragnar’s eye and goes through his skull. Ragnar’s body twitches for a few seconds before going limp and falling slumped over on the controls. From there, Fury begins to move on his own and makes a run for it. Fury busts his way through the walls and fences of the Ragnarök base and into the wilderness of the planet. Ragnarök troops begin to open fire on Fury but every shot misses the metal yutyrannus thanks to his speed. During his escape, Fury decides to dump Ragnar’s body aside and makes a beeline for the first ship he sees. Fury finds a civilian transport ship and manages to sneak aboard. Now that he is free from Ragnarök’s control, Fury decides to seek out his rival and the only mech that matches his strength, Fenrir.
“Fenrir. I will find you and once I’ve bested you, Nidhogg is next. Use mechs don’t need a monster like that spinosaur.” Says Fury, hiding from security.
