Dear Mother and Father,
The night is lonely, just like any other, but the day was a lot better. It’s been many years since I felt this way, ever since the day I last saw you both.
There were many books in father’s library, but it wasn’t until tonight that I finally read them all. I remember that you taught me that reading makes one smarter, however, the only thing I’ve learned is how much I’ve missed you with the end of every book. I couldn’t speak my feelings to you out loud, so I wrote them within a passage, and I delivered them to your resting spot. I never had the chance to introduce you to a lover, but I’ll write to you about this new girl in town. Her name is Haein. Her voice is gentle like a soft breeze in the winter, her gaze ignites a timid blaze, and her hair flows like the branches of a lemon tree. Every word she speaks is the epitome of honesty. She’s everything I am not. She has everything that I crave and desire, for I am lacking in many things ever since you’ve left me at the mercy of this cruel world. I’ve always dreamt of introducing a girl to you, but now I can only write to you about one. I am aware you’ve been watching me from above. I’ve done many wrongful deeds, and I am not planning to stop anytime soon. Therefore, may you please plead for me to god, for he may forgive me for what I’ve done and continue to do. I won’t ask you both to forgive me yet, I haven’t been able to forgive you either. This life is too long, every day is harder to pass, yet I continue to live. Do not get me wrong, I am a selfish man. You may call me unfilial, for all I do is solely out of hate for the people who’ve corrupted this world. I wish for your happiness in heaven, for I might not see you again thereafter.
Sincerely,
Your son
