In a dystopian future, Nikolaj lives in the grim, overpopulated city of Efesto, where his violent, alcoholic father abuses him. Struggling with self-harm and drug abuse, he skips school frequently. Once he comes back he befriends Faye, a bullied girl, daughter of a prostitute, but their bond is threatened when a mysterious client of her mother becomes obsessed with her.
