K'emvar's battle with the titan in the depths ends with less than favorable results. On the surface, Lady A'ise confronts the T'aeri clan's attempts to insult K'emvar's desperate rescue attempt from the depths. The Ax'ad lieutenant takes action - simultaneously assisting the 'outsiders' with the sacred Vaenin crystal and safeguarding her clan's honor. K'emvar realizes his road to recovery has a dark ending.
