Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
After talking with his wife, the sorcerer went to check what else had happened during his absence. Having grabbed the for some reason frightened adept by the collar, he ordered a messenger to be sent for Hu Dao Ming, with an invitation to come and personally report on the events in the necropolis. The boy's impudence is unforgivable. Oh, yes!
He stopped a man passing by and ordered him to call a healer. He himself, having already walked around the palace, went to Ming Si, to a room that was much closer than the mistress’s chambers. The man never gave any of his wives a room next to each other, preferring to keep a distance from them as a matter of duty.
Entering without knocking, he immediately went inside.
— Ming Si, do you like your room? Any suggestions?
Ming Si
In the time that has passed since he acquired his body, Ming Si has already become accustomed to the new reality. Time on the road had flown by. In his days as a wandering spellcaster, he had rarely stayed in one place.
The room in which he was accommodated was striking in its magnificence and luxury. Looking around with interest, he turned to the familiar voice:
— Thank you, Master. Everything is fine.
The fact that Wu Hao had only now found time to talk did not bother him. He understood perfectly well how many worries and troubles he had.
— Can I help you with something?
Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
Wen Yan smiled as he poured hot tea. The servants had obviously been here recently, the water from the rag they used to wash the table had not dried.
— There is no place for modesty here, you are my sword and you should have the best and whatever you wish. So you can safely do whatever you want, — remembering his wife, he raised his finger up, — within the bounds of decency. The main thing is not to disgrace me with your antics, one Abhi is enough for me.
Ming Si
The last phrase made the man look at him in amazement. Of course, he, like many others, saw the scene that had unfolded at the entrance. The spellcaster was clearly unlucky with his wife.
— Master, I will not abuse your permission, — smiling with the corners of his eyes, he followed suit and poured himself a fragrant drink.
Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
For a while, he simply drank tea, examining his own sword. He was looking for answers, but they were far from outside. Adding tea to the cup once more, he spoke:
— Ming Si, what do you remember from the time when you were in the sword and now, when you have acquired a body? Can you tell me at least something? You must understand that I need to understand what happened and punish the culprits if all this brings bad consequences. Now everything seems wonderful. I tried the sword, the strength remained the same. I didn't lose anything in this. I only gained, just like you. I hope after many years in oblivion, you enjoy walking on the ground with your own feet and making your dreams come true? But you understand that there is a catch in everything? I want to find it. I hope that this is in your interests too. Right?
Ming Si
The catch... Of course, there is a catch, at least one. Despite the body he received, he is still tied to the sword and the master. But he was not going to talk about it. But the sorcerer is right about one thing, nothing is given for free. It would not hurt to find out the price of this gift. Smiling sweetly, he answered:
— I think I will not tell you anything new. What happened around me while I was in the weapon, you yourself saw.
He was not going to tell about the sweet voices that lured out the soul, it would seem, firmly tied to the metal. But as for what happened next — why not.
— And then there was nothing. After which I felt myself in a new body. Over time, it began to change until it took on the form that I had before. My abilities also remained with me, — he brushed a strand of hair from his face and placed the cup on the table, — I would like to help you in your investigation.
Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
The man, having listened, took a deep breath, nothing new. Absolutely nothing. There is no information, and it is not known when it will appear. Didn't they themselves notice that they were pulled out? What kind of magic do you need to have in order to extract many souls from artifacts and distribute them among bodies?
Wu Hao thought about what he knew about spiritual weapons at all and mentally found himself in the library that his predecessors and he himself had collected for many centuries. Many spells remained as sketches from the founder, but these are just sketches...
Having decided to study them, he stood up and headed for the exit, then, remembering the injury of the young man, turned around and, looking at him, thought about Wen Ming.
— I'll call a healer, let him examine you, and if he allows active work, from tomorrow we will go to the library. We need to study all of Mao Kung's records. He worked a lot with souls, — without waiting for an answer, he went to the reception hall. The doctor must already be stuck to the floor there. But it's good for him.
Thanshu Wen Ming (Minj)
There was nothing unusual in the fact that the head Thanshu summoned him immediately upon his arrival. Wen Ming knew that the spellcaster did not like to put things off. The wait had dragged on, but he was not bored. Too engrossed in his research, he was constantly thinking about new potions and healing methods. He did not even notice how long he had been standing in anticipation until he heard familiar footsteps.
— I greet Head Thanshu, — the healer bowed respectfully.
Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
The pupil waited. Although, it is not surprising, if Wu Hao had not appeared in the hall for two days, the boy would have stood there, not moving from his place. Having looked sternly, the man paused and spoke:
— You need to bow lower! Your potion did not work. The puppy spent the night alone in his room — he had to wait a little before continuing. The echo in the huge hall was louder than ever. Apparently, the decoration that had been in the way before decided to turn into nothing due to the tone of the sorcerer, so as not to catch the eye — do you have something to justify yourself with?
Thanshu Wen Ming (Minj)
— Head Thanshu, this is impossible. I have checked many times. The potion always works, — he wondered how this could happen, — I can demonstrate its work on any man of your choice. You will see for yourself. Perhaps the one who informed you was mistaken or deliberately misled you?
Bowing again, he looked firmly into the eyes, confident that he was right.
Thanshu Wei Wu Hao (Wen Yan)
Watching closely, and having seen his protégé's lack of confidence many times, Wen Yan believed that he was not lying. He tsked and shook his finger next to the other man's nose.
— But it didn't work! My sons and your sister were watching him. Do you want to blame them for not noticing Hu Dao Ming walking past them? Do you want to say that they all went blind? — He waved his hand in displeasure and went to his favorite place, trying to understand how this could have happened along the way. Having settled down, he looked at the young man again, — Go to Ming Si, check on his condition. Tell him that he should be left alone for a while, let him rest. And give my wife something, that mare has gone mad again. That's it, go. Wu Hao sat on the throne for a long time, replaying the past events over and over again, trying to analyze everything thoroughly and understand at least something, but all to no avail.
The butterfly... He let it stay in his palm for a moment, but still, not wanting to return to the past, he clenched his fist tightly, driving away what he had been trying to get rid of for many years.
Closer to evening, the man went to the library, where among the many scrolls he hoped to find an answer to at least one of his hundreds of questions.
