Chapter 6

Carter hated the plan. Which honestly, Ellie quite enjoyed. The dragon was fast approaching them and the controllers, and soon would be on them. Ellie felt a strong magical pull approaching her, but she knew to do what she needed to do properly she needed more magic. That’s where the dragon came in, and then that’s where Carter came in.

Carter ran to where the Controllers were, about a few feet in front of them, and waved his hands over his head. “Come on ya big dragon! You're going to be a nice meal for my friend here!” The dragon roared, as if it was getting more angry. The dragon flew down over the Controllers, making them fall to the ground. Ellie prepared herself, and her magical abilities once more. She felt magic starting to pull towards her. She had no idea if the soul of the dragon would enter her as well, but honestly that was better than being killed by a bunch of cultists. Carter was running as fast as he could to the rocks, where Ellie prepared to absorb the dragon’s magic.

‘Are you ready?’ Asked Anna.

Ellie shook her head, “I’ve never been more not ready for anything ever.” She held out her hands and saw her blue, magic powers fly out to the dragon. It shrieked as if it knew exactly what was happening to it. It clawed at the ground around it, and Carter went into a jog. Then stopped. Ellie was more focused on the ability to absorb the magic of the dragon and not the soul, because sharing a body with two people was honestly enough. Suddenly Ellie felt another world, one where only the soul existed. She tapped into the soul of the dragon, and absorbed all the energy she could into herself. Once it was over the dragon shrieked one last time, and fell to the ground. Too weak to move. Ellie still had massive amounts of blue energy swirling around her, but just let it be just that. Energy, one that she could use.

Carter walked up to her, “You ok?” He said, eying the strange blue energy surrounding her.

She nodded, “I think I can do it, it’ll be hard, but I can.”

Carter shook his head, “You never fully explained what you were going to do by the way. All I heard was, ‘You're going to be a distraction.’ And I immediately didn’t like the plan.”

Ellie nodded, and let out all her energy to her right. Creating a portal to, what was hopefully a world that the Controllers had no control over. “That’s the plan.” Ellie said, “But we’ll be back.”

Carter looked at the portal, and nodded. “Here I thought today was going to be a normal day.” Carter breathed deeply, “Where to?”

Ellie shrugged, “Don’t know, I feel immense power from it though. Powerful heat.”

Carter nodded, “Well, I believe if I stay I’ll die.” He turned to the dragon lying beside them, “So let’s go to the death dimension, hooray.” He casually walked into the portal next to Ellie and looked back, “I better see you on the other side.” Then he walked through, and went into the multiverse.

Ellie nodded, “You will.” She released Anna from her soul, “Will you come as well? You might want to stay here right? Home dimension.”

Anna’s voice echoed in her mind, “I shall follow you, this is a fun show to watch once you're dead. I hope to see many adventures for Carter and Ellie, and their adventures through the multiverse.” Anna disappeared, and Ellie felt her back in her soul.

Ellie nodded, “Adventures through the multiverse.” Ellie took a casual step through the portal she’d created and hoped for the best.
