We start off with the events after the mysterious man who Stole the Kiss, now known as Kurai—Meako's younger brother—meets up with his friend Saburo.

Saburo: Where were you?

Kurai: I kissed a girl.

Saburo, surprised, exclaimed: What, when, who?

Kurai : I don't know.

Saburo replies: What do you mean you don't know? You're telling me you just kissed some random girl?

Kurai: Yep.

Saburo: Why?

Kurai says: No reason, but she was cute though.

Saburo: I should be surprised, but knowing you, this strangely is not that surprising. Ahh, anyways, let's go. I have somebody I have to meet up with.

Back to the present with the four girls as they are walking home.

Rin: I can't believe that another school year is starting tomorrow, and to make it even more nerve-racking, as seniors.

Rin: Ehh, is this what it feels like to be getting old?

Kinko: It feels like only a few years since I left elementary school.

Meako replies dryly: It has been only a few years since you left elementary school. Remember, you skipped a few grades.

Kinko: I know that, but it is the sentiment that counts.

Hikari: I wonder when we will be able to meet like this again.

Rin: Hikari, is that what's been on your mind the whole time? I was starting to get worried.

Kinko: I thought I was the only one feeling awkward with all the silence at the restaurant between you and Meako.

Rin: You don't have to worry about that; you will still have me and Kinko with you. And we can always meet up with Meako on weekends and holidays.

Kinko: I won't let Meako's scholarship get in the way of the bond we made with each other over the past year.

Kinko: Hikari, you don't have to worry; I'll make sure we stay together no matter what.

Rin: Ah, all this talk about friendship and love; it must have something to do with the season.

Rin: They say spring does this to people.

Meako: I don't know about that. It feels more like summer to me.

Rin: I am serious. I think it has something to do with the season. I've made up my mind—this year I am going to get myself a boyfriend.

Meako says: You can't be serious. (with a blank face)

Rin says: No, really. My whole high school life so far has been nothing but studying and having to deal with my younger siblings getting in the way all the time. No, not anymore. Before this year is over, I am going to let loose and get myself a boyfriend.

Meako: I think Kinko has been a stronger influence on you than I thought. You're even starting to speak like her.

Kinko innocently says: I think that's a great idea. But hmm, I'm not so sure what type of guy would want to go out with you, though. (She said with a serious face.)

Rin, slightly offended, says: Are you on my side or not?

Kinko: Sorry.

Soon after, the four girls went in different directions, leaving Meako and Hikari now standing at the railway crossing.

Meako says in a serious tone:
Hikari, don't forget to call me when you get home.

Hikari, surprised by the change in atmosphere, agreed and went her way.
