Asagi Hasegawa asked, “Does it mean?”

Ye nodded, “Yes, most likely a trap. The rules of the universe create the maze. Which is not possible for me to alter.”

Asagi Hasegawa nodded, “Indeed. Even Yuan Zhu is unable to stand against those celestial beings.”

Ye replied, “In my opinion, 70%. The records that I know, Chaos Zone couldn’t produce a maze.”

Sakura Hasegawa asked, “Why?”

Sakura Hasegawa nodded, “Is there any connection?”

Ye nodded, “After the Extermination War, celestial beings are expelled from our universe. However, Huang and root for mutation still reside in our universe. With the establishment of Central, Yuan Zhu, and the levels system were created.”

“Do you know what causes a mutation?”

Sakura Hasegawa shook her head and smiled, “Ehe, don't know.”

Asagi Hasegawa sighed, “Sakura, you are a teacher now. How can you not know the basic knowledge?”

Ye chuckled, “Mutation caused by high purity of Negative and Corroded Yuan Li. The same for creating the Maze and Dungeon. Yuan Zhu is created to act as a filter to separate the Yuan Li in the universe.”

Sakura Hasegawa asked, “If Yuan Zhu is a filter, then why are other kingdoms wary about us?”

Ye replied, “Because Yuan Zhu has been evolving throughout the fifty thousand years. In some higher civilization, Yuan Zhu no longer moves only within the country. Which is a danger to the nearby country.”

Asagi Hasegawa asked, “What is your opinion of WuJi?”

Ye replied, “WuJi is a unique kingdom. I don’t think you can find any kingdom like this.”

Asagi Hasegawa asked, “Why?”

Ye replied, “Humans are the weakest race. The only race that couldn’t participate in the Extermination War. Until now, no race will treat humans in equal terms.”

Asagi Hasegawa replied, “On Mira, there are several kingdoms of humans.”

Sakura Hasegawa asked, “Do you mean they used a human kingdom as bait to attract more humans?”

Sakura Hasegawa’s question stunned Asagi Hasegawa. Sakura Hasegawa smiled cheekily as if she had won.

Ye nodded, “Yes. There is always some superior race that supports the human kingdom. On the face value, it’s a human kingdom. In their eyes, it's just a meat farm or factory for some purpose.”

Both Hasegawa sisters were silent after Ye’s statement. They had thought that human treatment had become better in the “Eden Era”. They never knew the situation of humans since they had never explored another planet.

Ye continued, “Humans on Mira are treated well. I think the reason is that the superior races on here are Demons and Angels. Which needs humans’ emotions more than humans’ meat.”

“Alright, we have strayed too far. Should we return to the discussion on the members?”

Asagi Hasegawa gazed at Ye and asked, “Sure. Do you have anyone who piques your interest?”

Sakura Hasegawa interrupted the conversation, “Can we discuss while having dinner?”

Asagi Hasegawa, “Ara~ Ara~ I don’t notice the time. I will prepare the dinner. Ye, is there anything you eat?”

Ye shook his head, “Nope. I’m fine with anything.”

Asagi Hasegawa cooked in the kitchen, and Sakura Hasegawa went to the bath. Ye sat in the living area, watching Asagi Hasegawa cook in the kitchen. Ye had a flashback that he had hidden.

A memory of Ye had met three women who changed his fate. Asagi Hasegawa brought him to where she lived, just as she did. The difference was that Asagi Hasegawa taught Ye the basic combat techniques. And the adopted daughter she had was not the same. The current adopted daughter was named Asuka Hasegawa (长谷川 飞鸟). The adopted daughter he knew was named Akeno Hasegawa (长谷川 朱乃), who later became his wife.

The end of the memory didn’t end well. The three women were captured and forced to be a Maternity Nest (母巢) of the Devil King in that world. At the end of the memory, Ye was able to avenge. However, Ye had to kill the three women in the process. Ye snapped and berserked. The world collapsed. 

A doctor appeared and told him that it was just an artificial memory. Ye was sent into an artificial realm created by the doctor. Ye was the experimental subject for this task. The task was to investigate how darkness grows. Ye had gone through multiple experiments. The final result was that darkness could grow by consuming the other darkness. And, negative memories could make darkness grow. Light and Darkness were the only elements that needed to form a pact. Positive and Negative memories could affect the growth of Light and Darkness to a certain extent. 

Even Ye was told that the memory was fake. But Ye still cherished the memory as his sanctuary. Wherever he felt like going insane, this memory could bring him back. Without Ye knowing, the tears fell from his eyes. At the same time, Sakura Hasegawa, who had finished bathing, noticed Ye’s reaction.

Sakura Hasegawa acted as if she didn’t notice and went to the laundry. Ye, who had just noticed Sakura Hasegawa, wiped his face and calmed himself down.

Asagi Hasegawa announced that the dinner was prepared. Sakura Hasegawa helped her in the kitchen while Ye was sitting in the dining area. The dinner was instant noodles. They were having a nice dinner and discussed the members.

Asagi Hasegawa recommended Rinko Yamamoto (山本 凛子), Yukikaze Mizuno (水野 雪风), Asuka Hasegawa, Long Kai (龙铠), Lin Yi (林一), and Ying (影).

On the other hand, Sakura Hasegawa recommended the students with good synergy. Such as Rinko Yamamoto, Yukikaze Mizuno, and Tatsuro Yamamoto (山本 达郎) were a team that accomplished tasks beyond their rank. Kotaro Fuuma (风魔 小太郎), Hebiko Nohara (野原 蛇子), and Shikanusuke Raiden (雷电 鹿之助) are another team that accomplished tasks beyond their rank.

Ye suggested combining both opinions since together they totaled ten. The total was also the same as the numbers Yuan Zhu provided. The sisters agreed to Ye’s suggestion.

At night, Sakura Hasegawa stood outside her sister's room. She was wondering whether she should tell her about Ye's reaction.

Asagi Hasegawa opened the door and headed to the laundry. She saw that Sakura Hasegawa was standing outside her room and deep in thought.

Asagi Hasegawa asked, “Sakura, is there anything I can help you with?”

Sakura Hasegawa replied with surprise, “AAhh— Oh, sis… Eh, I don’t know whether I should tell you or not…”

Asagi Hasegawa asked, “What is it about?”

Sakura Hasegawa replied, “It is about Ye.”

Asagi Hasegawa nodded, “You can, since I am tasked to oversee him. If he does anything against the law, I need to capture him.”
