Oh to be a priest accidentally picking up a young swer.
It was common* to pick a hustler up by asking if they wanted to get a coffee, if both parties show interest via eye contact etc. I assume because it makes it harder to get caught by the police, if you're not arranging prices/location out in the street.

Regent palace hotel was a common location for swers to take clients- I'm using Piccadilly as the location here, because I've been reading a book about dilly boys and the meat rack, and its nice to be accurate...
