The second match of the Championship begins. The Star Riders where up against a team of snake mechs known as Team Quick Strike. The Team was no match as the Star Riders picked off each snake one by one. The match ended as soon as it began. With their match over, the Star Riders take this opportunity to observe the match Ragnarök is in. They turn on the telescreen and watch as the match starts. Ragnarök is up against Team Panthera, a team that specialize in feline units. Team Panthera’s mechs are comprised of a lion, a tiger, and a leopard. The Star Riders notice the mechs beside Nidhogg. Drasil is joined by a megaraptor and a concavenator. At first, Team Panthera thinks Ragnarök’s mechs are going to be frail and that their wins were a fluke.

“Look at these things. They look like they belong in a museum display.” Says the Tiger Driver arrogantly.

“Makes you wonder how they made it this far. No matter. We’ll just take them down and win this fi-.“ Says The Leopard Driver before being interrupted.

Just then, the concavenator rushes the leopard and clamps its jaws around the panther’s neck before sinking its claws into the unit’s sides. The leopard tries desperately to get the theropod off but to no avail. The concavenator proceeded to tear the leopard apart limb by limb. Furious by this, the Tiger Driver charged towards Nidhogg. Before he could land a strike, the megaraptor intercepts the attack and knocked the tiger away.

“What the hell is your problem?! You could’ve killed someone!” Says the Tiger Driver with rage in his voice.

“The new world has no need for waste like you. King Drasil will bring glory to mankind once more!” The Megaraptor Driver proudly proclaims.

The tiger swipes his claws at the theropod before going for a grapple. The tiger tries desperately to pin the megaraptor down only for the sink its teeth into the metal panther. From there, the megaraptor uses its sickle claw to disembowel the tiger, slicing the core in two. The tiger falls to the ground and goes limp. That only leaves the lion left standing, the Driver feeling fear run though his body. The destruction of the leopard and the tiger didn’t feel like the outcome of a mech battle. This was a monster slaughtering what it saw as lesser.

“What the hell are you? Says the Lion Driver with fear in his voice.

“The ones who will restore mankind’s former glory.” Says King Drasil.

The lion charged at Nidhogg with the fury of its driver. The lion slashed the spinosaur to no effect. Nidhogg sunk its teeth into the lion and lift the feline into the air. With both its claws, Nidhogg grabbed both the front and rear end of the lion and ripped the mech in two. A mix of fluid, gears, and wire flew across the arena. With the lion destroyed, Ragnarök wins their match against Team Panthera. The crowd remained silent as Ragnarök leaves the arena. Medical professionals arrive on the scene to get Team Panthera much needed medical attention.

After the match, the Star Riders were disgusted by the what they saw. Star Riders are even more determined to take down Ragnarök. The Star Riders prepare their gear and readies their mechs for the semifinals of the championship. Meanwhile, Fury manages to track down Ragnarök and is waiting for his time to strike. Ragnarök is the only thing standing in the way of his goal of besting Fenrir in a fair fight. Little does he know that his and Fenrir’s goals will align sooner or later.
