Spent hours in spaces between this world and next
Waiting for when you'd resurrect
So weak the wind could blow you to dust
Holding onto that tearing rope
Sweat stains your brow as you hope
To this infinite, I call neverending
Consuming evermore
Still eavesdropping on nothing
On the nothing that exists
Still sticking like flies
To irresistible sweetness
It finds in this ditch
Wondering when you'd receive the gift to leave
Knowing not what to expect
Making anything of the scraps left
Over from the rest
You say it isn't easy, they pay you no respect
Why does it even matter
When now buckets crowd the floors
Where outside's weight seeps
Through the suffocating ceiling, it pours
In the places that we sleep
