After the Journey

Threads of Destiny, Part 1

Threads of Destiny, Part 1

Nov 22, 2025

The battlefield was a vision of ruin—scorched craters scarred the earth, and pools of seething darkness pulsed with malevolence. The final wave of Abyssal monsters surged forward, their twisted forms writhing with unnatural energy. Star and her companions stood at the heart of the carnage—bloodied, bruised, but unbroken. Their resolve burned brighter than ever, a beacon against the creeping darkness.

Star gripped her glowing sword tightly, the blade thrumming with Light. She glanced at her companions ' faces, streaked with grime and sweat, but eyes ablaze with defiance.

“This is it,” she said, voice steady with fire. “We end it. Now.”

Siegfried adjusted his shield, the surface gouged by countless claws, yet still holding strong.

“Stick together. We’ve come this far because we fought as one.”

Klara gave a sharp nod, her catalyst crackling with the last vestiges of Storm energy.

“I’ll keep the rabble off your backs. Let’s finish this—fast.”

“Good,” Friedrich growled, a wild grin spreading across his face as flames licked the edges of his greatsword. “Let’s make this count.”

The Abyssal horde came crashing in with relentless fury, their guttural howls tearing through the air. Among them towered a monstrous figure, its massive body studded with glowing, pulsing crystal growths—each beat radiating wicked power.

Star stepped forward, her blade igniting in a brilliant blaze.

“Take down the smaller ones. The big one’s mine.”

Before anyone could argue, she sprinted straight into the fray, slicing through lesser Abyssals like a streak of divine vengeance. Each swing of her sword erupted in radiant explosions, incinerating her foes and clearing a path toward the colossus.

“Cover her!” Siegfried shouted, diving into the chaos.

He raised his shield just in time to block a lunging Abyssal, its claws screeching against the blessed metal. With a swift pivot, he drove his sword into the creature’s chest—water spiraled down the blade, freezing the monster solid. One sharp kick shattered it into glistening shards.

Nearby, Friedrich faced a trio of agile Abyssal beasts darting around him. Their claws flashed as they struck from every angle. He swung his blade in a wide arc, a wave of fire surging behind it. The searing heat forced the creatures back—until one leapt onto his back.

“Get off me!” Friedrich roared, slamming himself against a crumbling wall. The impact flung the creature off. He turned sharply, plunging his flaming sword into its chest. The Abyssal screamed as fire consumed it, disintegrating into ash.

At the edge of the melee, Klara raised her catalyst high, Storm energy flaring at her fingertips. She summoned a vortex of wind that tore across the battlefield, dragging the smaller Abyssals into its spiraling grasp. Bodies slammed into each other, hurled helplessly into ruined walls.

“Siegfried, left flank!” Klara cried.

Siegfried pivoted and intercepted an Abyssal charging from the side, his shield absorbing the blow. The creature staggered, and he followed up with a precise strike—his blade soaked in water. The liquid spread like frostbite, freezing the beast mid-roar.

Meanwhile, Star reached the towering monster. It let out a deafening roar, the crystal growths on its body pulsing with vile energy. A jagged beam of corrupted light shot toward her—she rolled aside, barely dodging the blast as it scorched the earth.

“I need an opening!” Star shouted, narrowly avoiding another volley.

“On it!” Friedrich answered.

With a mighty roar, he charged. Fire surged from his greatsword as he brought it down in a sweeping arc, sending a blazing shockwave into the creature’s side. The explosion staggered the monster, and cracks rippled across its crystalline armor.

Klara seized the moment. She focused lightning through her catalyst and hurled it at the fractures. The electricity snaked through the fissures, surging deep into the monster’s core. It convulsed, shrieking in pain.

“Now, Star!” Klara screamed.

Star didn’t hesitate. She leapt high into the air, her blade blazing with blinding Light. With a defiant cry, she drove it straight down into the monster’s skull. The impact unleashed a radiant detonation—pure, searing energy engulfed the beast.

The towering Abyssal beast screamed one final, piercing howl before its form collapsed inward, dissolving into a swirling void of shadow and ash.

Silence fell.

The battlefield lay still—only broken walls and exhausted warriors remained. The last of the Abyssals vanished, leaving behind the echoes of chaos and the weight of hard-won victory.

Star lowered her sword, her chest rising and falling with ragged breaths.

“It’s over,” she whispered, though weariness laced her voice.

“For now,” Siegfried corrected, wiping blood from his brow. “But this was just the prelude. The real war lies ahead.”

Friedrich sheathed his sword, the flames dimming.

“Let them come,” he muttered. “I’ll burn every last one.”

Klara offered a tired smile.

“Let’s not rush to our deaths just yet. We need to regroup. That fight drained more than just mana.”

Star nodded, her gaze drifting toward the horizon. The fading sunlight cast long shadows over the ruins—silent harbingers of the storms still to come.

“We have to be ready,” she said softly. “This isn’t just about us anymore. The fate of Atlantia depends on what we do next.”

Victory tasted like ash.
And somewhere beyond the ruins — something ancient stirred.

Long after the Great War sealed away the Demon King, peace has returned to the kingdom of Atlantia. The scars of that era have faded into legend—yet in the quiet corners of the world, something restless begins to stir.

In a small village near the capital, a determined girl named Star grows up fighting the monsters left behind by that ancient war. Unlike the heroes of old, she wields no magic, no divine blessing—only grit, courage, and an unyielding will to protect those around her.

One night, Star dreams of a legendary blond-haired hero—the same figure spoken of in history and myth. He tells her that she has been chosen to inherit his legacy… and to face the darkness that once nearly destroyed the world.

As forgotten evils awaken, Star is drawn into a journey across the seven regions of Atlantia. Along the way, she confronts deadly enemies, unearths truths buried by time, and forges bonds that will shape her fate. With her heart as her greatest strength and her companions at her side, she must rise to meet a destiny written long before she was born.

But legends are never as simple as they seem.

And the greatest trials may not lie in defeating monsters—
but in understanding what it truly means to be a hero.

Can one ordinary girl become the hope a kingdom needs… or will the weight of legend consume her?
