After the Journey

Dawn Over Valhalla

Dawn Over Valhalla

Dec 09, 2025

The pale light of dawn stretched across the horizon as Star, Siegfried, Klara, Friedrich, and Astrid emerged from the cave. The bitter cold of Valkyrie Valley began to fade, and the oppressive fog that once blanketed the battlefield dissipated like smoke in the breath of morning wind. The world felt lighter—no longer burdened by centuries of torment and grief.

Star stepped forward, her eyes locked on the shimmering forms of the heroes who had come before. Spirits clad in ethereal armor, their weapons glinting faintly in the gentle sunlight, stood silently before her. The weariness once etched on their faces was gone, replaced by serene expressions—peaceful, unburdened by sorrow.

One spirit, tall and noble, adorned with a helm-like crown, stepped toward her. His voice echoed softly, reverently, filled with deep gratitude.

“You have done what we could not, young hero. You have freed us from our torment. For that, we kneel before you.”

He fell to one knee, a hand pressed to his chest. The others followed, a chorus of reverence rising around her—harmonious voices that faded like a lullaby carried off by the wind. One by one, the spirits dissolved into radiant orbs of light, rising into the heavens as if being welcomed into paradise.

Star watched in awe, her golden sword still clutched in hand, its blade catching the morning sun. A lump formed in her throat as the last spirit vanished, leaving behind a quiet, reborn valley—a land finally at peace.

As the group stepped beyond the valley’s edge, a new sight awaited them. There stood King Nicolas, clad in gleaming royal armor, flanked by his royal guards. Behind him, a crowd had gathered, faces alight with anticipation and hope. The moment the group appeared, a ripple of whispers surged through the masses, followed by cheers and cries of joy.

King Nicolas stepped forward, drawing his sword and raising it in salute. Then, he dropped to one knee.

“Star Rosalind,” he declared, voice strong yet reverent, “you have saved us all. You’ve given this land a future.”

One by one, the royal guards followed suit, kneeling before her. Behind them, the gathered crowd bowed their heads, murmuring her name with reverence.

Astrid was the first of the group to kneel beside her, her expression calm but filled with admiration.

“This is your moment, hero,” she whispered.

Klara and Friedrich followed. Friedrich leaned close with a soft smile.

“Don’t let it go to your head, Star. We’re all still counting on you.”

Siegfried was the last to kneel. His blue eyes met hers—steady, warm, filled with unspoken emotion. He smiled, the kind that spoke of pride, trust, and quiet affection.

“You deserve this, Star,” he said.

Star stood frozen, her golden sword trembling slightly in her grip as she looked around. Her heart pounded, mind reeling from the enormity of what had just transpired. But then her gaze fell on her friends—on Siegfried, on Klara, on Friedrich, even on Astrid. Their faces grounded her, reminded her why she fought, why she endured this impossible journey.

She took a deep breath and slowly, deliberately, she sheathed her golden sword. The metallic sound echoed like a bell—clear, resonant. Straightening her posture, she unsheathed it once more and raised it high toward the sky. The sunlight struck the blade, casting golden rays around her, bathing those kneeling before her in its warm glow.

The crowd erupted in cheers, their voices echoing through the valley. Star stood tall, her sword no longer just a weapon—but a beacon of triumph, a symbol of rekindled hope. A single tear slid down her cheek—not from sorrow, but from victory.

This was not the end of her journey. The road ahead remained long, the battles yet to come still loomed large. But in this moment, beneath the breaking dawn of Valhalla, Star allowed herself to feel it—pride, gratitude, and an unyielding strength to face whatever lay ahead.

Far from the celebrations, deep within the forest’s embrace, a lone figure emerged from the shadows of a cave.

The forest was hushed, its thick canopy shrouded in mist. Slivers of pale sunlight filtered through the branches, casting golden streaks on moss-covered ground. The air was heavy—not with malice, but with the stillness that precedes revelation.

The figure stepped into the clearing, the hem of his golden cloak trailing behind him. Faintly glowing four-pointed stars shimmered along the bottom of the fabric, like constellations stitched into silk—celestial signs brought down to earth.

Beneath the cloak, he wore a simple white shirt—elegant, unassuming. A hood covered his head, its shadows veiling his face. Yet his presence radiated unmistakable authority, an aura of power carved by countless journeys through countless worlds.

He paused at the edge of the clearing, his gaze lifting to the horizon. There, far beyond the forest, the remnants of the great Dimensional Rift still hung in the sky—like a scar on the very fabric of reality. The chaos once born from it—whirling colors and cracking skies—was fading, slowly sealing itself as the rift between worlds began to heal.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips—quiet, almost inaudible.

“You did it, Star,” he murmured, his voice rich and steady, edged with pride. “You truly did it.”

He stepped forward, and the forest seemed to part for him—nature itself acknowledging his presence. His eyes, hidden in the hood’s shadow, shimmered faintly as he watched the rift close.

“I was not wrong to choose you as my successor,” he said, every word carrying deep conviction.

The wind stirred, rustling the leaves around him, carrying faint echoes of the cheers from the valley beyond. His stance relaxed, and he lowered his gaze, a quiet smile playing on his lips.

As the rift finally vanished, leaving behind an unmarred sky, the man turned away. His cloak swayed softly as he stepped back into the forest’s embrace, his figure swallowed once more by mist and trees.

Long after the Great War sealed away the Demon King, peace has returned to the kingdom of Atlantia. The scars of that era have faded into legend—yet in the quiet corners of the world, something restless begins to stir.

In a small village near the capital, a determined girl named Star grows up fighting the monsters left behind by that ancient war. Unlike the heroes of old, she wields no magic, no divine blessing—only grit, courage, and an unyielding will to protect those around her.

One night, Star dreams of a legendary blond-haired hero—the same figure spoken of in history and myth. He tells her that she has been chosen to inherit his legacy… and to face the darkness that once nearly destroyed the world.

As forgotten evils awaken, Star is drawn into a journey across the seven regions of Atlantia. Along the way, she confronts deadly enemies, unearths truths buried by time, and forges bonds that will shape her fate. With her heart as her greatest strength and her companions at her side, she must rise to meet a destiny written long before she was born.

But legends are never as simple as they seem.

And the greatest trials may not lie in defeating monsters—
but in understanding what it truly means to be a hero.

Can one ordinary girl become the hope a kingdom needs… or will the weight of legend consume her?
