Panicked, Marinette stuffed Damian's phone down her shirt and grabbed his hand.
He gripped her hand tightly as they faced the Leviathan at the door, their guns aimed and ready to fire.
They leaped over the railings, plunging from the terrace without a second thought, heart pounding, mouth open, screaming, the adrenaline rush intense as they dropped.
“Holy Kwami, is this how she's going to die?” hoping that the Wayne Heir has a plan.
As they leaped, hand-in-hand, Marinette braced herself for the coming drop. She shuts her eyes.
Suddenly a red blur shot past super quick, Huh?
The sudden downward plunge came to an abrupt halt.
They didn’t become a splat on the floor. Her mind was a whirlwind.
She felt a soft, feathered, humongous body beneath her and a sensation of moving upwards.
Were they flying?
Oh, for the love of Adrien's croissants, this is not part of her bucket list!
Wondering and nervous, she peeked, seeing something crazy.
A guttural scream ripped from a creature as a rush of air blowing from its wings.
The creature was like a red gargoyle, yet also a massive, gentle gorilla, with enormous wings covered in shimmering crimson plumage.
She felt the texture of the red feather as it soared through the sky like a colossal creature. She held on for dear life.
She gazed at Damian, who rode the beast on its back effortlessly, appearing well-prepared for the task. Had he encountered this creature before? Of course! The Wayne Heir had done it. His plan is insane, yet effective.
Thanks to the Kwami, she’s still alive.
”Hang on, Dupain-Cheng, because it’s going to be a rough ride!”
She nodded nervously, feeling a new level of fear despite not being afraid of heights, gripping the feathers tightly as Damian handed her a harness. They were riding a flying Bat-Dragon Hybrid gorilla in the Paris skyline.
Her life, nothing made sense anymore!
Then she caught Damian on top taking his clothes off, really? Is a lack of oxygen causing her hallucinations?
Mouth hung open, “What In the hell are you doing?”
“Is this the first time you see someone changing?”
Confused, Damian switched from his dark navy suit to black riot gear. With its sleek brown accent streaks and padded armor, it looked too modern.
Was that carbon fiber like the one in his shin before? was this his supervillain suit, most likely?
She had no rebuttal after that, so he changed his suit; is he expecting more fight?
She looked back...Putain.
Approaching rapidly were three objects, appearing to be military-grade, single-person aircraft with twin jet propulsions, metallic gray; she saw them behind the others.
The leviathan had an air power and they were in pursuit.
Damian gripped the harness, “Goliath High Up!”.
She shrieked as the creature ascended; gravity pulled her mouth into a mush as its force increased, her stomach lurched, her visions blurred pulling her into unconsciousness.
A jolt followed. The last thing she recalled was Goliath; the creature, ascending, which made her lose her bearings.
Where’s she at? Oh no, she’s going down, Dang it! No, No, No.
She’s going to die! Freaking out with no parachute. Damm you Damian! So killing her is part of his plan!
Merde. Marinette breathe in, think!
She’s in the air, galloping like a fish. She looks up and sees a figure coming. Is that a bat? There’s this dude with wing gliders on his shoulders, like a squirrel, swooping down towards her, oh it’s the Wayne Heir. As they got closer, he grabbed her arms and pinned her to the side.
They were both descending, but Damian came to the rescue with his glider. Thank goodness for the Kwami.
“You okay? You’re safe now. I’m sorry for my mistake. It won’t happen again. Hold on tight, Dupain-Cheng.”
He apologized. Wow, that's an improvement. But they are still in mid-air.
She witnessed Goliath diving and swooping down towards one of the Leviathans, resulting in an explosion as it tore through the jet propulsion. Fiery orange blooms, like a shockwave, filled the Parisian sky like fireworks.
The remaining two…..Putain.
Did they fire a grenade launcher at them? Is it even possible for them to dodge it? Is she going to die? Isn’t she? With eyes closed, she waited for the impact.
The impact never came.
She open her eyes.
The Dragon-Bat Goliath acts as a shield, throwing the grenade from the other side, covering them with his stomach, and using his arms to help Damian and her.
A massive mid-air explosion, a blinding orange inferno, temporarily blinded her.
So they executed a barrel roll to get away from the explosion, and now Goliath had them both.
Merde! She did not want to experience that ever again.
As her stomach lurched as she released her non-existent food. Damian was at the helm, alert, so they soar higher and tried to hide in the clouds.
He looks at her.
”No time to explain. You take control!.”
Huh? Her? Is he serious?
How on earth can she manage this massive behemoth?
She sighed and they switched positions carefully, as she had no choice but to take the leather rope and secures a strong hold on it.
”I’ll take care of those Leviathan Troopers, cover me. Just hold tight! Goliath knows what to do. Dont’ Fall!” He smiles at her.
With his stealth suit on, he lifts up the mask, disappearing as if he never was there, jumping off Goliath’s back and gliding towards the unsuspecting Leviathan soldier.
They hide in the clouds only two Leviathan Troopers remains.
Marinettee is in awe as she sees Paris in the sky for the first time and observes how high they flow. Being a superhero as a Multimouse, she has taken on that role three times before, but she has never had an experience quite like this one. Seeing the Eiffel Tower from such heights is amazing. Despite their grim circumstances, she smiles even at high altitude.
As her arms moved with the clouds, Marinette felt bewildered by the bright, beautiful Parisian skyline.
Atop the jet propulsion, Damian landed, drawing his improvised—is that a katana?—weapon. A single hit sliced the jet propulsion in two; he escaped on his glider as another explosion rocked the area.
Marinette squinted due to the blinding light and the realization that they had been spotted by the last one who was now chasing them.
She grabbed the reigns.
With the last trooper firing a grenade launcher, Goliath howls, dives, and executes another barrel roll to the left.
As Damian glided down, Goliath rapidly descended, and Marinette opened her arms to catch Damian and ride on Goliath’s back again.
Safe.
As they approached the last trooper from above, Damian quickly made a move.
With a kick and strike, he countered another air thrust, his katana destroying it before Goliath could seize it in a subsequent aerial assault.
Success. Her heat pounding at the exhilaration. She's not going to forget these soon enough.
Just as they are about to dive again into the darkness, the image of the golden crown of Null Monarch, with its crystalline mouth, smiles. mocking. It declared.
”You two never cease to amaze me. This play has gone on for too long; before I leave, let me give you a warning before dawn. I will cause chaos in Paris by detonating hidden bombs across the city at exactly 5 in the morning.
Witness the Parisian sky ablaze. I’m telling the truth. You have one last chance: surrender the phone or accept the consequences.
I bid you both farewell!”
In a burst of rage, Marinette plunges towards the crystal-clear image of Null Monarch being destroyed by Goliath, watching as the crystals shatter into a million pieces.
Damm him!
Paris is under siege by a madman who uses real-world methods, not the Miraculous, to cause chaos. If it happens, the harm caused by it is irreparable for Ladybug.
So, what’s the story with this Wayne heir’s phone?
What is actually hidden in the phone that even another Supervillain desired so much?
She clutched the phone to her chest. She hopes it’s not too late for them. The fate of Paris rests on their shoulders.
Yes! Marinette’s meets Goliath, one of Damians' Furry friend. I hope you like these chapter as I enjoyed writing it! Kudos and comments are deeply appreciated.
