At school – Break time.
We were just chatting, minding our own business, when Ai Lin dropped a bomb.
Ai Lin: Have your parents ever told you how we were born?
Me: Pa said I was pooped out of the toilet.
Ai Lin: I heard pregnancy hurts, though.
Me: Yeah. They probably thought Ma was pooping out an atomic bomb.
Everyone froze. Then collectively sweated.
Ben: My mum said she pooped the entire place, and when she finally pooped me out, I slid away and almost crashed—but luckily, a nurse caught me!
Me: So instead of a water slide, it's a poop slide!
Ai Lin: Free admission.
Chris: No height restrictions either!
We clapped in agreement like a proud audience.
Chris: I was found in a rubbish dump. Apparently, I was adopted.
Ben: Good thing the rubbish truck wasn't scheduled that day.
Ai Lin: Or else we'd never have met.
Me: Our friend group wouldn't be complete without any of us.
For a rare second, silence fell—until Daniel piped up.
Daniel: A stork delivered me to my parents' doorstep.
Ai Lin: Wow, so you already flew before you could even walk. Awesome.
We clapped again.
Chris: What happened to the stork after that?
Daniel shrugged.
Ben: Your family didn't… eat it, right?
Me: Poor stork.
Chris turned to Ai Lin.
Chris: What about you?
Before she could answer, a shadow loomed over us.
We turned.
Miss Ting stood there with a rolled-up book and the look.
We gulped.
That day, everyone got 'bao' on their heads.
