In class, I was quietly doing my work while the teacher wrote on the board.
I had a question to ask, so I walked up to her. Just then, she turned around and asked everyone—
Teacher: "Where is Sae?"
Me: "Teacher, I'm right next to you."
She finally turned to face me, looking puzzled.
Teacher: "Oh, there you are. I didn't see you."
Me: "I know. I heard you."
Later at home, I took a shower, went downstairs, greeted Pa in the study room, said hi to Ma in the kitchen, and flopped onto the couch next to Sis in the living room.
Sometimes, I walked around making weird noises—just because I could—until my parents scolded me for it. So I went back to the couch to relax.
A few hours later—
Pa (shouting): "Where is Sae? Is she still showering? Sis! Go call your sister and tell her to stop wasting water!"
Sis turned to me.
Sis: "You heard that?"
Me: "I'm not deaf."
I walked into the study room.
Me: "Pa! I was downstairs the entire time."
Ma walked in right after.
Ma: "She was making weird noises earlier. Did you forget?"
Pa looked at me, confused.
Pa: "She used her cockroach power again."
Ma: "No cockroach makes this much noise."
Me: "…"
That night, I was lying on the couch, scrolling through my phone, enjoying my peace.Out of nowhere, a mosquito flew straight into my face.
Me: "Beh! A mosquito smashed into my face!"
Ma walked in, frowning.
Ma: "What weird noises are you making now?"
Me: "I'm invisible to a mosquito, Ma!"
Ma: "What's so shocking?"
I was too stunned to speak.
