Outside of Kyodo Corporation Group Limited - Shinjuku Branch’s building, Taiyo and Tomo were engaged in a heated conversation over what transpired the night before.
“What the hell man!” said Tomo.
“I…”
“Don’t even, you know how bad you made me look? Not to mention how embarrassed she was. You didn’t even bother to make up an excuse, she knew you flaked.”
“I’m…sorry…” said Taiyo sheepishly.
“You should be, but it’s her you should really be apologizing to.”
“If she even wants to hear from me.”
“…And don’t even tell me it was because of that stupid arcade girl.”
“She’s not stupid.”
“She’s not anything! Lines of code, a screen, fancy lights…that’s it!”
“…She’s more than that.”
“Look, I’ve entertained your delusion long enough, but you gotta quit it man…or it’s going to impact our friendship.”
With a sigh Taiyo replies, “Understood. I won’t bring up Hosh…the arcade girl with you again.”
“Good. Now we can focus on more important things like where we’re eating for lunch.”
Tomo puts his arm around Taiyo as they walk off into the distance, never realizing that Tsuki was once again eavesdropping on their discussion. Her face puzzled as she stood behind a column near the entrance, wondering even more about Taiyo’s odd entanglement.
Later that night Taiyo sat at his desk, pen in hand, brainstorming ways to get even more entangled.
“I need a way to converse wth Hoshi, but clearly she won’t if there’s too many people around…hmmmm”
Taiyo taps his pencil against his lips as if to encourage a brain wave pattern yet undiscovered by modern science.
“…If I can sneak into the arcade after hours, then we’ll have plenty of time to communicate…but how?”
He starts to jot down some ideas.
“Maybe I could hide in the bathroom until closing…but that’d seem kinda creepy and completely boring. Plus I’m sure security would check if anyone was still around before they close…”
As he sits back in his chair, Taiyo looks at the clock. Only an hour before the arcade is going to close.
“Guess I’ll just have to scope the building out, see what other options I have.”
Taiyo puts the pencil down, grabs a pair of sunglasses and thinks, “Time for a covert mission.”
