Yes, the drainage shaft, Kaifus thought. Very risky, very foolish. An oversight for sure, but Taris was always a wild card amongst his apprentices. He knew the young juvenile absconded and explored the temple. He allowed him to be free of his holding cell if not to foster his rebellion, then to show him the futility of escaping the temple. But now Taris was a grown being, running for his life... running who-knows-where.
Elyon had corrupted him somehow, and now the future of the order was again uncertain. He'd paid the price for allowing Gavar to run the order into failure during the war. An now his head apprentice had gone rogue.
Kaifus decided that Taris would try to make contact with the Jedi for help. he would complete his betrayal. But ... he could lead us to the enemy. He would lead us to Master Elyon Jess.
He would don the old armor, the symbol of his status in the Sith order. He would hang the mantle on Gavar again. Hatred would lead them to Taris. The Dark Side would give him victory over his enemy. He would cross the boundaries, cast off the chains of the Empire, follow every lead.
The hunt was on!
Star Wars: It is the time of the Old Republic. In an effort to secure their home system against Jedi influence, the Empire creates the Order of the Dark Hunters. The Sith Lord, Darth Kaifus, leads the order with his remaining five apprentices, the chief of which is Taris. In the past year Taris has made a name for himself as the most lethal of the crew... but one day the Hunters run into a different kind of Master. The power in the galaxy shifts from one side to the other. When the smoke clears, Taris is on the run from both the Empire and the Republic.
