Started and finished last night, this is my piece for this year's Transgender Day of Remembrance. It's a solemn day for this community, especially with such a hard year behind us. Not everyone has a voice or a platform, so this is to encourage you to mark this day however you see fit, so long as it is done with kindness and love for all. And not violent; that's the last thing we want, to keep this cycle going forever.
This is the first canon appearance of Embra Huntsman in Behind the Veil! Embra is classified as an elf, or the child of a genie and a human (in other words, a half-genie). She is herself trans and transformed into the girl she wanted to be. Yes, she mirrors a lot her counterpart in the stalled Shantae fanfiction I started years ago, but she is different in some ways; we'll learn more about her as her story comes to light, probably first in "Enter Embra."
But for now, know that she wields darkness. This flame she created absorbs the darkness around it, creating the glow we see. This Embra too knows a great deal about loss and striving to continue the legacy of the fallen, making her the perfect character for this.

Welcome to the world of Behind the Veil! This world is much like ours, but all sorts of magical forces and beings exist in the background. Merfolk, dryads, magical fox people, and so many more exist, helping the world in the background. All of which tend to accept the LGBTQ+ community and guide those in need that come into their fold.
While all of my original stories (comics and novels alike) exist within this world, some are separate one-one page or short comics in this grand world. This is the place for these little moments, such as "Sour Demon Fruit!" and "Kit's Doodle."
(See the companion piece, "Behind the Veil: Campfire Tales!" for one-shot short stories [often split into smaller parts due to size] from this world!)
This will update infrequently and irregularly, as new one-shots for my wider Behind the Veil series are created.
