In his own head he looks cool, but to the outside world…not so much. As Taiyo stands waiting for the train, others around him question why someone would wear sunglasses at night. Ignoring the obvious stares and clandestine giggles, he completes the journey back to the arcade.
*DING-DONG-DANG*
Entering the doors as if he was a secret agent, Taiyo slips behind machines, hiding around corners, and generally creeping people out. But none of that mattered, he’s laser focused on figuring out how to see Hoshi. Not just for a 2 min rendezvous, but a much deeper experience.
“Hmmmm.” Taiyo murmurs as he notices everything around him in the arcade. The different sections, the traffic of people, and of course the employees. Eventually his eyes shift to a back door where the employees enter/exit from.
“I’m going on break.” says one of them.
Taiyo immediately seizes on this opportunity and slinks over to the door. Without opening the door any further than it was, he peaks his head out. The employee stands back against the wall, smoking a cigarette in the alleyway. Suddenly a hand grabs Taiyo’s shoulder…
“Excuse me sir.”
Cleverly, Taiyo turns around and starts to pantomime as if he is a blind man.
“Oh, sorry am I somewhere I shouldn’t be?”
“Well yes, this door is for employees only.”
“This happens all the time, you see I’m blind.” Taiyo says while pointing dramatically to his sunglasses.
“I’m so sorry sir, let me lead you back to the arcade area.”
The employee grabs Taiyo’s arm and leads him slowly back towards the machines, but then thinks to himself…
“Wait, if this guy is blind…then how does he play any of these games?!”
In the same instant that thought crossed his mind, Taiyo’s arm disappeared from his grasp.
“Huh!?” said the employee as he frantically looked around.
Realizing his shift was ending soon, the employee shrugged his shoulders and let the mystery of the blind man pass.
