At night, Yerin suddenly woke up from thirst. Half-asleep, she quietly went to the kitchen. But the moment she stepped over the threshold, she froze: a man was standing by the window.
His face was lost in darkness, only a vague silhouette visible under the faint moonlight. A cold fear ran through her body instantly. Yerin couldn’t even move — it felt as if her legs were rooted to the floor. Her heart pounded so hard it almost hurt, and goosebumps ran across her skin.
She tried to make a sound — a weak sob escaped on its own. When she gathered the strength to lower her head and look away, she felt a presence behind her. A movement in the air. A shadow.
The man was now standing behind her.
Yerin screamed as if the sound tore itself from the depths of her fear… and suddenly sat upright in bed.
It was a dream. Only a dream.
