Jackson would not answer any of my texts or calls. He hadn't come back yet. I hadn't heard anything from him at all. What if he regretted what we did? What if he decided he isn't into guys? What if it was just me who was the problem? He seemed in such a hurry to leave the house.
I heard the doorbell ring, and I rushed downstairs, hoping it was Jackson. It was Lara. "Hey, Marco. So, um, I met with Jackson. Well, we didn't really meet. I just stumbled upon him at the gym, and uh, a lot happened. Can we go up to your room to talk?" She asked.
I led the way, wanting to know if Jackson said anything. Lara and I sat down on my bed, and she told me everything, from her covering the marks I left on him to him asking her to tell me he was sorry. "Sorry for what? I asked. "Does he plan on ever coming back? He won't answer my calls or texts. Is it over?" I asked.
"No! He might just not be answering your texts because he needs some space by himself to think. I don't know the details about what happened between the two of you, but I saw the evidence. I can assume it was new and intense for him, and he might just be overwhelmed. He seemed worried that you were going to leave him, to be honest. I think he will come back to you soon. Besides, you two have to see each other in class tomorrow. And if it goes horribly, that's the last session for that class. I think you two will be fine, though," Lara responded. I nodded.
I just wanted to know that Jackson was okay. I wanted to feel him in my arms again and hold him until he felt loved and safe. I wanted him here with me. I pulled out my phone. There were no new messages from him. "I see you didn't cover up the marks he left either," Lara commented.
"Well, I wasn't expecting you to come over and drop all of this information on me," I responded, rolling my eyes. "At least I washed the sheets before you came over," I continued.
"Marco! Ew, too much information," Lara yelped. I laughed.
"Now you know how it feels," I responded, checking my phone again. There were still no new messages.
"Marco, quit checking your phone every few minutes. Why don't we play a video game or watch something to take your mind off of it?" Lara responded. We ended up watching a movie, but it did nothing to take my mind of off Jackson. I just wanted to know if he was safe.
What happens when Jackson and Marco are assigned partners for the final project? Jackson and Marco could not be more different. Jackson is popular, hilarious, and great at sports. Despite this, Jackson's grade is terrible. He needs to do well on this final project. Marco is sarcastic, openly gay, and he does not like Jackson, but he wants to keep his good grades. Will they be able to set aside their differences to get a perfect grade? What happens when they discover they share a favorite video game and decide to do their project on that?
