When I first did this as a photocomic, I ended it in a somewhat more uncertain way. You knew SOMETHING happened, but not exactly what, or how bad it was. It made for a more poignant reveal later on.
This time around, we have more context before the story even begins, so making the ending more dramatic and shocking felt like the way to go.
