Time Traveling Lady

The Fallen Angel

The Fallen Angel

Dec 19, 2025

After riding his horse, Marquess Rodrigo Garcia took it to the stables and was now on his way back to the main castle. Before he reached his destination however, the 20 year old Marquess noticed specs of dust, or perhaps sand, being blown down by the wind. The sand spiraled down gathering in one spot. The mysterious wind suddenly stopped and now, where once had been sand, there was an unconscious woman lying on the ground. Rodrigo was electrified, what a magical thing he had witnessed! Was she perhaps a fallen angel? He moved closer to the mysterious woman. She was wearing a dark blouse and a dark long skirt, not the attire Rodrigo expected of a celestial being.

“Hello, are you alright?” he called out. There was no response, the angel remained unconscious. “Pardon me.” Rodrigo shook her lightly, an attempt to wake her. It failed. Rogrigo scratched his head, it seemed he would have to carry her inside. As his hands moved to pick her up, they were trembling. Rodrigo was quite nervous, this magical woman was quite pretty. After calming himself, Rodrigo took her in his arms and continued on his way to the main castle. As he walked, Rodrigo wondered how he would explain what he had witnessed.

When he got to the main castle, the servants were shocked. “My lord, who would that be?” asked the castle steward.

“...I found her…” answered Rodrigo, who had not managed to come up with an explanation in the time he had before reaching the castle.

“Yes?...” the steward waited.

“Well, I will take her to a guest room, call for the physician.” Rodrigo decided to just move along, and leave the explaining to after he could have had a talk with the angel.

“Pardon?... very well.” The steward gave up on getting an explanation from the Marquess and followed his orders.

After lying the angel in the bed of a guest room, Rodrigo stared at her, her long brown hair spread across the white pillows and bed sheets, she looked radiant, Rodrigo felt his face warm up and his heart beating faster.

“I`m here, my Lord.” announced the physician entering the room.

“Oh, yes. Very good, take a look over her. I’m going to go clear my head.” Rodrigo, flustered, left the room.

“Pardon, but who would she…” started the physician, but the Marquess was already gone.

After a while, Rodrigo was notified that the physician was done, so he returned to the room where the fallen angel was.

“So…how is she? When will she wake up?” asked Rodrigo.

“Well, she seems to be fatigued, only needing some rest.” answered the physician.

“That makes sense, I guess.” Rodrigo could imagine that falling from the heavens would be a tiring ordeal.

“But, there is something I must discuss with you, my Lord.” said the physician.

“What is it?”

“Well,” the physician adjusted his collar, “she presents signs of recently having, how do I put this, a nightly encounter. So I recommend your caution, my Lord.”

How odd? An Angelic Maiden to have engaged in those sorts of activities, was not something Rodrigo would expect. “Are you sure? And what is this about caution?” asked Rodrigo.

“I’m certain, my Lord.” said the physician, “And, I recommend caution, for who knows from what path of life this woman came from, you can never be certain of people’s past. You should be careful, my Lord, not to catch any diseases or be stuck with someone else`s ki-”

“Enough!” warned Rodrigo, “You may take your leave now.” he ordered. The physician bowed and left the room.

Rodrigo moved closer to the bed. He played with the angel’s hair. What a mysterious woman she was, he couldn’t wait for her to wake up so he could talk with her. What would her voice be like? Perhaps the doctor was wrong and, even if he was not, she was a woman of magical origins. It did not matter if the angel somehow had a lover and, if she did, they probably were not currently on good terms, or she would not have appeared to Rodrigo. He could very well have a chance.

One hour passed, and Rodrigo was still in the Fallen Angel`s room. Rodrigo was reading some reports he had brought over to the room so he could remain waiting for the angel while he worked.

“Where am I?” came a voice from the bed. Rodrigo shifted his attention from his papers to the angel. She was sitting up from the bed, rubbing her eyes. Her voice was truly tantalizing and when she looked at Rodrigo, he finally could see her eyes, they were a strong green, shining like a jewel. Rodrigo dropped his documents, in a daze.

“And who would you be?” she asked.

Rodrigo stood up from his seat, cleared his throat, and spoke, “I`m Marquess Garcia and we are at a guest room on Castle Garcia.”

The Angel stared at him. Her gaze seemed to focus specially at his wavy blond hair, “And how old would you be?” she asked.

“...I’m twenty.” Rodrigo answered, worried. An angel probably had lived for eons, would his young age stand in the way of courting this angelical woman?

“Have ten more years left, huh.” she mumbled, glancing once again at his hair.

“Pardon? What was that, Angelical Lady?” asked Rodrigo.

“What?” the angel raised an eyebrow, “what did you call me?”

“Angelical Lady. Is that not the correct form to address you?” said Rodrigo.

“Why are you calling me that?” she seemed puzzled at his veneration.

“Well, I witness your descent into this world, your gold celestial dust taking form into your present figure.” answered Rodrigo.

“...I-I see.” the angel seemed surprised, “so that is how it looks from outside perspective.” she mumbled.

“Yes! So, ahem, thank you for blessing us with your presence. How should I address you?” said Rodrigo.

“Well,” the angel thought for a moment, she then seemed to come to a decision, “my celestial name is incomprehensible to mortals. So, I will allow you to choose a name to call me by.”

Rodrigo`s eyes went wide. What an honor it was! She seemed to be approving of him, to think he would have the opportunity to name such an heavenly being! “I-I will need time! This is a matter of great import.”

“...Y-yes, but no need to make a fuss about it. Lets go with the first name that comes to mind.” said the angel, unknowingly to Rodrigo, she was overwhelmed by his wide assumptions.

“B-but, but…” he was reluctant to make a choice so carelessly.

“Now, go!” abruptly behested the angel.

“Isadora!” Rodrigo chose.

“What?” the angel`s eyes were wide with surprise.

“Is that one not good? I can come up with something else, let me think…” said Rodrigo

“No, no. That is not it. It is a good name.” reassured the angel, she then asked, “But, why did you pick that one?”

“Well...” Rodrigo`s face went red, he adjusted his collar and then shyly answered, “That was the name of the first Marchioness Garcia.” he glanced at the angel to gauge her reaction.

“I see.” the angel caressed her face, “so that`s how it is.” she mumbled.

“I-Is there a problem?” asked Rodrigo, apprehensive of rejection.

“No, it is a good name. I just got a lot to think about, that`s all.” reassured the angel.

“So, can I call you by it?” asked Rodrigo.

“Yes, yes. Sure, let`s go with Isadora. Don`t see a need to change it.” The Angel, now Isadora, waved it off, “By the way, who are the current members of House Oliveira?” she suddenly asked.

The question brought a raise to Rodrigo`s brow, “Well, the current Duke is Nicolas Oliveira, his wife is Renata Oliveira. The previous duke and duchess died a few years ago due to the plague.”

“And the Duke has no siblings?” asked the heavenly Isadora.

“No…” answered Rodrigo. Why was she interested in House Oliveira? It worried him, Duke Oliveira was married, but this was an angel he was dealing with, it hardly mattered to such a being. Was she perhaps interested in the Duke?

“I wonder how things will unfold.” mumbled the celestial lady, once again caressing her face.

“So, what is your plan? Are you returning to the heavens soon, or do you intend to remain in this world for the time being?” asked Rodrigo, “I hope you will consider staying here, at the Castle.”

“...Yes. Celestial travel can be quite the ordeal. So I will accept your offer and stay here with you.” answered the angel.

“Thank you! You will not regret it. I will make sure you have the most comfortable stay possible.” Rodrigo was elated.

“...uhm. But, let`s keep my status as a heavenly being between us, shall we?” Proposed the angel, "don't want to cause much stir.”

“Very well.” nodded Rodrigo.

“Now, I need some rest, so, if you wouldn't mind…” said the angel.

“Oh, yes. I will take my leave then.” Rodrigo hurriedly moved for the door. Before he left he took one last glance at the beautiful angel.

Madam Dolores Garcia, the Marquess` mother, was enjoying a cup of tea when her lady-in-waiting, Flavia Alves, abruptly entered the room.

“What is the meaning of this?” she reproached.

“Pardon, Madam. But, there is an urgent issue!” said Flavia.

“What is it?” asked Madam Garcia, still miffed.

“The Marquiss brought a woman of unknown origins to the castle!” informed the worried lady.

“What do you mean? Has my son employed a maid without checking her background?” asked the Madam.

“No! Marquess Rodrigo entered the castle carrying an unconscious woman. He then took her to a guest room and called for the physician.” explained Flavia.

“For what you are saying, it seems he rescued her from somewhere. But, it is odd to go through such trouble when there are the knights and servants.”

“Yes,” agreed Flavia, “and he seems quite taken by her. I’m afraid she will threaten my position as his future fiancee!”

“Noncense! Why are you afraid of some common minx? Even if, for now, she has attracted my son`s attention, it is not as if he will wed a commoner.” disagreed Madam Garcia.

“Even so, it could still harm his reputation and honor.” said Flavia.

“Well, you got a point there. I also would prefer my son not to behave like some rake.” agreed the Madam. “I guess I will have to intervene.”
