I heard wailings, screams… and then, a baby’s cry.

The woman in labor was pretty, with long brown hair and bright eyes. She seemed exhausted, but also relieved.

Meanwhile, the baby continued crying as the medical crew presented the child to her mother.
« It’s a girl! »

I had always thought that newborns were ugly — especially on the day they were born — but that girl wasn’t so bad.
She already had a tuft of black hair on her head, and I quickly noticed a red glow in her eyes.

However, the crying didn’t stop, and little by little, a black shadow began to grow around her.
The atmosphere changed quickly. Her mother suddenly froze. Her face, relieved at first, twisted into an expression of disgust.
As if in shock, she barely looked at her baby and refused to hold her.

The medical crew was petrified. I could sense fear coming from them.

I had seen so many worlds, so I quickly understood the problem.
I was probably in a magical world, and the baby seemed to possess dark magic.
Judging by everyone’s reaction, that power was clearly feared.

I looked at the person holding the baby. She seemed ready to drop her at any moment.
I brought myself closer to the little girl. For a brief moment, her eyes met mine… and without realizing it, I smiled at her.

She stopped crying.
Her power calmed down, and the room returned to its original state.

At that moment, I understood she was the protagonist of this story.
All I had to do was follow her adventures and wait for the day she would find her true soulmate.
