Their clothing was made of fur and bones from the Reapers and whatever the other creatures were on this island.
"The natives...I am Cascade. You from tower?" She asked as she pointed upward.
I glanced up in the direction I had come from to see a small glint of the building. It was miles away but I still had further to go before I made it to the ship.
"Not my choice to be there...but yes and I'm trying to get out of here." She nodded as she approached me causing her people to raise their weapons. She turned to them with an aggressive look on her face.
"Then we help you." She said as she pointed in the direction I was heading. I nodded unsure of her motives and why they lived out here.
"Dr. Lee...gave you your powers?" I question as she stared at me confused until she finally understood what I meant.
"We born this way....Goldman not do this to my people."
I nodded slowly as we continued down the hill. I sighed wondering if the others had made it to the ship. They might have even left already without waiting for me. I walked beside her in silence as her people followed close behind holding torches as weapons. I had lost track of time and direction causing me to be unsure of where we were going.
"Kill him." I heard one of the natives mumble causing me to stop and turn. I stared at them all with a deadly stare. Cascade glanced at me and then her people. I grunted as I looked at her slowly.
"I can find my way from here.... Thank you."
As I sprinted away from her. She shouted something but I continued running as fast as I could down the hill. I breathed heavily as my feet briefly left the ground every step I took. I had to keep going unlike the others my durability and stamina was enhanced from years of rigorous training.
Now I have learned I'm some supernatural being with unnatural capabilities. After hours of running I saw the ship and the others were camped near it.
As I came closer to it I was struck over the head again causing me to tumble downward. I could hear shouting as I continued to roll down hitting my head on a rock. I caught myself and looked up to see Cascade. I realized her people were using their war drums once again which meant something bad.
She looked at me angrily as I climbed to my feet. I looked back to see Jack getting everyone on board the ship. It was time we left this island and never came back.
"You not allowed to leave." Cascade said.
I charged at her and pushed her down but she quickly got up. She withdrew her sword which had these strange markings inscribed all over it. It was oddly shaped and didn't seem as if it was made from the proper materials.
I sighed as I stepped forward prepared to fight. Unfortunately, she moved faster than I had anticipated and struck me in the neck. I stumbled back gasping for air as I waited to heal.
Seconds later my skin started to burn and the mist floated away from my wounds. I watched as it disappeared remembering it had briefly turned into some dark substance. She looked at me with confusion as she struck me repeatedly. I decided to not fight back and take every strike she gave me.
I intended to show her that now that I know some of what I can do I wouldn't be stopped. She yelled angrily as she swung her sword more aggressively and without thinking my hand grabbed the blade. I stared at my arm in amazement it was as if my body had a mind of its own. Though I had heard a voice that I had no idea where it came from.
My blood seeped through my fingers and fell to the ground as I pulled her sword away. I threw the sword down and kicked her. I realized her people were powerful....extremely powerful.
"Why volunteer to help me...then attack me." She smiled as she stood to her feet.
She began to move her hands in an unusual
motion. A bright ball of energy formed in between her hands. I felt the wind and air pulling me toward her. Whatever this power was it felt strong and consuming. I tried to hold my ground but the ground continued to give way. I noticed Blaze was being pulled toward the energy as well.
"The golden man's creations not leave this island they must die. His people dangerous and cause problems for my people." She said.
Her hands continued to move around the ball of energy that began to grow bigger and bigger. I noticed more things were being pulled toward the energy. I watched as they turned to ash when the things touched the energy. I raised my hand and saw the tip of my gloves singe off. I grunted as I continued to try and gain my footing.
"I'm nobody's creation and I will not stay here!" I yelled as I charged at her.
I had no choice it was the only way. She looked at me in shock as my body began to break down the closer I came to her. I continued taking one feet in front of the other until finally I grabbed her wrist. She looked at me angrily as she increased the pressure.
I noticed my skin going further and further to the bone as I snapped her wrist. A loud cracking sound erupted as the energy dispersed knocking me backward. I snarled in pain as my flesh burned as I watched the mist float into the air. I sat up to see the wounds disappearing. What the hell is happening to me? Her peopled charged with their weapons and abilities.
I noticed that the ship was far away from me. They had left me behind.... How could Jack and Kira do that? Without another thought I started running as fast as I could. I didn't know how I'd reach them but I would no matter what it took.
With the thought that I appeared to be manifesting power I decided to test my abilities. The moment I got to the shore line I readied myself to jump. My hope was that I possessed the power to leap a great distance.
When I propelled myself off the ground debris exploded from under me. My body went flailing into the air. As I ascended into the air my eyes widen in horror staring at the vast blue beneath me. I could see many things swimming underneath, the creatures that would have a picnic if I fell in.
The cold breeze felt harsh against my face as I felt as if I had started to glide. After a few seconds in the air I landed in the water. I had been so close to the boat I could almost reach it. I flailed my arms as I began to try swimming to catch up to it.
I noticed Kira throwing what appeared to be a rope. I swam toward it and grabbed it. She reeled me in and helped me climb aboard. Once I climbed aboard I collapsed onto the slippery floor. Breathing heavily I sat up noticing the others staring at me in looks of disbelief.
I glanced at Jack and shook my head. He looked away and sighed silently as he headed down into the cockpit. Jade approached me as I started lay back down.
"Thank you for helping us." She said.
I stared at her briefly before rolling over onto my side. Now facing away from everyone I closed my eyes.
